When did Costco start taking coupons- other than the ones they distribute to members? Here Costco does not even require their own coupons to get the deal price.

They have included a scan bar on the front page of their flyers that cover most everything that they will have on sale within the monthly coupon booklet. All you have to do it rip that can bar off the flyer and paperclip it to your costco card :)

I checked the ibotta site and Costco is not listed as one of the stores at which you can use the app. I’m confused.

It’s a new addition! You can check the “store extras” on the menu screen of your Ibotta app and see the Costco specific coupons as well. :)

I notice some items have a star. What does the star mean?

Reply

Jenn K October 2, 2013 at 4:53 pm

The star means that deal is highlighted as one of the top/best deals!

to get the instant savings do you have to scan a coupon or is it automatically taken off at the register? are these items on sale for that price or do i need to do something to get the lower price? sorry! i’m new to costco!

Almost all of the Costco deals are from the current month’s coupon booklet. Some coupons say whether you need to show the cashier the coupon book (or free Costco app on your phone) and some are instant savings. The coupons tell you which ones they are on the post. However, I’ve never had to actually show my cashiers at Costco the coupon book – they always scan their copy at the register. Just watch the screen and make sure you see the coupons come off your totals. :)

What is ibotta? I am new to couponing, and apps in general.

Alana, here’s a post we did about Ibotta. It’s an easy way to earn cash without having to print and clip coupons! :) http://www.5dollardinners.com/new-ibotta-mobile-coupon-app/

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I don’t see Costco anywhere in my Favado app. Is there a trick to accessing it there?

New to Costco…where do i find this coupon booklet at Costco?

Reply

Jenn K March 17, 2014 at 6:25 pm

Melissa – you can get on their mailing list to have it mailed every month. Just check with customer service at your local Costco. Or once the coupons are live, all the Costco stores have them usually by the entrance or on the desk at customer service.
