I love square foot gardening (SFG). I’ve done it a few years now. And I just love it. It’s simple, easy…not terribly expensive to get started. And you get to grow lots of great goodies in a tiny space…with minimal time “working” the garden…watering, weeding, etc.
Boy’s Life has an easy to follow and understand tutorial for setting up a planter box!
There will be more gardening talk around here as we head into the spring…if you’ve never grown your own food, SFG is a great model to start with.

Can’t wait for Spring! We’re having so much fun planning our gardens and building hot-house boxes. I’d LOVE to try SFG.

A customer at hardware store where I work at asked me this week what I’m going to garden this year. I said I’m not sure yet as the past two years haven’t been good weather wise. Our tomatoes started ripening when summer was over. Not sure what is going on this year as I’m not too happy with what’s happened and time involved is nil! Suggestions?
LOL! I had the same problem with my tomatoes and peppers. Trying again this year though.
Good tip. We are also starting to grow our own greens so this should help.
The tomato blooms won’t “set” when the temperature doesn’t cool down enough at night. I’m hoping for better produce this year!
