what is your PBJ roll ups…I am always looking for new quick and easy lunches, my 4 year old started school and so its just me and my 19 mth old who we can’t ever get to eat ( doctor has her on 3 pediasures a day) so I am always looking for creative ideas to get her to eat…she loves PB..
I’m just curious about the pumpkin applesauce. Do you buy that made already or make it yourself? If you make it, is it just adding pumpkin to applesauce? I’m always looking for ways to add more pumpkin to our diet as we all love it’s flavor! Thanks!!
I make it…mix a little pumpkin in with the applesauce, with some cinnamon sprinkles! Just a fun twist to applesauce…plus sneaks in a veggie! I do this a LOT in the fall when pumpkin is on sale and there are more coupons for it!
Hi Erin, I don’t know if you have a Safeway in your area but they have the BEST Peach/Pineapple salsa and it’s usually 2.00 a jar.
Oh…that’s not too bad. But no Safeway here. Will see what my Kroger has! Thanks for the tip!
Erin,
With peaches in season and on sale right now, it’d be a shame not to make your own. If you have a farmer’s market nearby, extra savings (and any extra ingredients would freeze well). I can usually find jalapenos for less than $.10 each, a bunch of cilantro would run you less than $1 at the farmers market and a red onion is…well…something I assume you already have on hand? Add a squeeze of lime and waaatchout! Nice salsa w/ freezable extra ingredients. Freeze the cilantro, the extra peaches, the extra lime juice, use the red onion in another meal, etc.
(on an unrelated note – if your kids need pens for school, walgreens has them on sale 2 for $1 and the red plum has a coupon for $1 off of 2. That equals free!)
I think I’ll be making my own! And thanks for the Wags suggestion…I picked some pens up last night…will share details later today!
What a yummy plan:-)
I will be checking back for the grilled mojito chicken and cornbread. Thanks.
