Kroger Shopping Trip

Shopping with the $5 Dinner Mom

It’s Pantry/Freezer Challenge Week around here.

I didn’t get much from the store. And I didn’t use one single coupon! (It felt kinda nice.)

Next week, I’ll be back to my $60/week budget for June.

Charlie is waiting patiently for some strawberries!  His favorite post-shopping trip snack!

This week’s trip mostly revolved around produce. I’ll be making up a yummy new cole slaw for this weekend (here is the recipe for my cole slaw).  And I’ll be slicing up the mangoes and freezing them for Mango Raspberry smoothies.

I also grabbed a pack of $1.99/lb chicken tenderloins, as I’ve got some bulk grilling plans on the horizon.

That about covers it for this week!

Total spent at Kroger: $25.95

Awwww! Charlie, my kids are SO with you on the strawberries. I got a full flat from the market two weeks ago thinking (foolish me) that I’d be making strawberry jelly for next year from them…yeah…that, or I’d be finding empty strawberry baskets all over the house and a bunch of kids with stained fingers going, “Ohhhh, you were going to USE those?” 8^D
