Nope, that IS a black raspberry.,….I used to grow them.
Some of my fondest memories are going out in the fields with my Mother and sisters picking balck raspberries in upstate NY. I now live in California and have not had a “just picked” black raspberry in over 30 years. I noticed that you commented that you used to grow them… they grew wild in my neck of the woods. 10 years or so ago… my sisters tried to relocate some of these plants but w/ no luck. Do you still grow these berries? Do you make pies, jam, turnovers. ice cream and cheesecake? Friendly’s Ice Cream has a decent Black Raspberry, but too lacks that subtle tartness… which my memory can still taste.
