Menu Plan Monday

So, this first trimester thing is really kicking my tail.  I just don’t like thinking about food and just want to eat a bowl of cereal at every meal.  But, I am managing to get some fruits and veggies in too.  What is it about pregnancy hormones that make you want to eat only carbs and chocolate??? 

Here is what I will ATTEMPT to make this week.  Perhaps with a little extra help from Hubs in the kitchen!

Monday - BBQ Chicken and Cornbread Casserole (Recipe from A Year of Crockpotting!)

Tuesday – Pork and Sweet Potato Stew (I did not end up making this this week!)

Wednesday – Tex Mex Chicken and Rice (Recipe from Lynn’s Kitchen Adventures)

Thursday – Black Bean Soup with Corn

Friday – Out to Eat with Aunts and Uncles!

Saturday – Wedding Reception for Friends!

Sunday - Grilled Pork Chops

I will post the recipes each night after I make the meal. If you see a meal you are interested in, please check back for the recipe later in the week!  I’ll also be posting my MAY MENU PLAN later in the week!

All I want is cereal too but I am already 37 weeks!! I have been too ashamed to admit it! I always do nice menu plans and then my husband has a real dinner and I have Raisin Bran. Thank heavens we have a massive stockpile of free and cheap cereal :)

Good luck with your menu plan this week. I know when I was pregnant, I could never stick to it. That’s why I have an extra set of thighs and chins:-(

Congrats!! I had a horrible addiction to Krystal’s with my last baby. Now I get morning sickness just thinking about a Krystal! (and I’m not even pregnant…lol)

Carbs and chocolate… probably why I gain so much during pregnancy. lol. Even if you don’t make the meals, don’t beat yourself up. If the Lord does bless us with another baby someday, I think I’ll do freezer meals for the 1st trimester!

My fav during pregnancy was Total cereal. It gave me all the Iron I needed towards the end. I drank a gallon of milk and ate a box of cereal every week. I convinced myself that it was fine-who couldn’t use extra vitamins?

Where do you post the recipes? I tried looking back to the menu plan for last week but didin’t see the recipes. Am I looking in the right place?

Do you have a monthly calendar print out that you can post? I was hoping for a monthly calendar that you have these on them already and I can just print out the calendar and then have the receipes behind it print with the calendar?

I was also looking for the recipes from last week. The lasagna soup sounded very intriguing. Are they posted somewhere I am missing?

I don’t always follow the plan to a T! Especially these days when I feel so queasy! You can find recipes in the Recipe Index (tab at the top of the site.)
