As promised, my homemade pumpkin pie spice.
You’ll notice that it’s very similar to the apple pie spice…just adds ginger and a bit more cinnamon.
And just like I said the other day, “why buy a jar of spice that you only need 1-2 teaspoons of when you can mix up your own with what you’ve got already?!”
Over time, you accumulate all the spices you need to make up your own mixes!

oooooo no allspice….drat. Maybe i should pick some up
I’m assuming that I can double, triple, etc to make a larger batch?? Thanks for this great recipe!
I am going to take all the spices out of the cupboard to see if I have allspice but I just don’t remember it. This is like the third time this week that I have had to search for spices…. I better make a list of what I have so I don’t have to do it again. It would also help when I run out. Do you have a list of spices that we should have in the pantry??? I realized the other night that I also don’t have cayanne pepper…. guess that hasn’t come up much before now.
nice
I’m confused, in your directions you say “Use as directed in recipes that call for apple pie spice”.
So is the pumpkin spice recipe or apple spice?
Thanks!
