These 4-Ingredient Open Faced Smoky Provolone Sloppy Joes Could Be Your New Favorite Weeknight Dinner!?

  

A hearty sloppy joe sauce – made with ground beef and a can of sloppy joe sauce – piled high onto Texas garlic toast, and covered in melty smoky provolone cheese. It truly is as delightful as it looks, and is an easy way to “change up” Sloppy Joes night!

Open-Faced Smoky Sloppy Joes

Savor the rich, bold flavors of these Open-Faced Smoky Sloppy Joes—a delicious twist on the classic comfort food.

Cook Time10 minutes minutes
Servings - 8 sandwiches

Ingredients 

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 15 oz. can sloppy joe sauce
  • 8 slices Texas garlic toast
  • 8 slices smoky provolone cheese
  • salad or veggies side dish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 F. Line a baking sheet with foil or silicone baking mat.
  • Place the Texas toast on the baking sheet and place in the oven for 10 minutes, while the ground beef is cooking.
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef and drain if necessary. Add the sloppy joe sauce to the browned ground beef and stir to combine.
  • Remove the toast from the oven, then divide the sloppy joe sauce onto each of the pieces of toast. Place a slice of smoky Provolone cheese over the sloppy joe meat. Return to the oven for 10 minutes, or until cheese has melted.
  • Serve Open-Faced Smoky Sloppy Joes with your favorite veggie or salad side dish. Enjoy!
