Cheesy Beef Garlic Bread: Gooey, Garlicky, and Packed with Flavor

This cheesy beef garlic bread combines rich, savory beef with buttery, garlicky bread that’s loaded with melted cheeses.

When I discovered the $1 french loaf bread, I started cooking more with it…because HOLY MOLY it’s so cheap and perfect base for a meal like this.

Each bite is packed with bold flavors, perfect for a comforting appetizer or a satisfying meal on its own.

Easy to make and impossible to resist, this dish is sure to become a crowd favorite!

Cheesy Beef Garlic Loaf Bread

This cheesy beef garlic bread combines rich, savory beef with buttery, garlicky bread that's loaded with melted cheese.
Prep Time10 minutes minutes
Cook Time15 minutes minutes
Servings - 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small white onion finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp steak or other seasoning blend
  • 1 large French loaf bread
  • 6 Tbsp butter softened
  • 1 tsp garlic powder sprinkled onto the butter
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 6-8 slices Provolone cheese
  • veggies or salad as side dish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 F. Line a baking sheet with silicone baking mat or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Slice the loaf bread open and lay flat on the baking sheet. Spread the softened butter onto both pieces of loaf bread, then season with garlic powder. The beef is already salted, so I wouldn't use garlic salt with the butter.
  • In a skillet brown the ground beef with the finely chopped onion and seasoning and drain.
  • Spoon the browned seasoned ground beef onto the loaf bread and then add pinchfuls of shredded Monterey Jack cheese into a single layer, then add the sliced provolone cheese over the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until cheese has fully melted.
  • Serve Cheesy Beef Garlic Load Bread with favorite veggies or side salad
