    Ham & Cheese Sliders_

I’m not sure that a meal could be more simple than this. Well, maybe it could…but this is seriously a delicious mini-sandwich. Or slider.

Sliders are a favorite around here…they are super kid friendly, and you don’t have half eaten burgers left behind by little people who aren’t big enough (or in the middle of a growth spurt) to eat an entire burger or sandwich. Just yesterday for lunch, there were 2 partially eaten turkey sandwiches left behind by 2 of my boys. (I blame that on the fact that we had friends over and they were more interested in playing than eating…or maybe they just weren’t that hungry! Who knows!)

These sliders are fantastical. Basic-ly fantastical.

Jazz up a ham and cheese sandwich/slider with a homemade honey mustard. It’s so simple, you’ll wonder why you haven’t been making it this way for years. And it tastes remarkably better than a store bought honey mustard.

    Drizzle it on.

    Don’t be shy.

It’s okay if it drips onto your plate like a sloppy joe would.

Because when it drips on your plate, you can sop up the extra honey mustard with your last bite. Just as you would drown that last bite of pancake in the syrup left on your plate.

Flavor explosion for the last bite.

    Ham & Cheese Sliders

Jazz up your next picnic (spring is here in San Antonio!)…or serve on one of those ‘practice nights’ because you can seriously have this all on the table in under 10 minutes…less if you have helpers helping you!

A note about the cheese: because cheese slices are 3x the size of slider buns, I ended up folding the cheese into quarters and stacking 3 quarters onto each slider. I’ve included 8 to 12 slices below for you to decide how much to stack onto each slider…use as much as you’d like!

And a note about the buns: I would just use regular dinner rolls from the store. You can use the Hawaiian sweet rolls, but it might be too sweet of a bread to go with the sweetness from the ham and honey. Up to you!

With that, here’s the very simple and very basic recipe. The homemade honey mustard may change the way you make sandwiches!

I have a little problem. I cannot make a meal that costs more than $5. It’s unnatural, but my pocketbook thanks me.
