My boys ask for this chicken all the time and this is the fastest way I know how to make it: Hurry Up Chicken Recipe!

Here’s why I rave about this recipe and why it’s become a “repeat around here.”

Side note: dinner repeats for a food blogger is pretty rare, but this one has definitely hit that repeat dinner rotation at our house.

It’s a repeat from me because it truly is that fast…especially when you use the “right” chicken cut. (See recipe!)

It’s a repeat from me because I almost always have the sauce ingredients on hand to mix up before baking.

It’s a repeat for the boys because the sauce it like a twist on ketchup and BBQ and we adore those sauces.

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Hurry Up Chicken

Use a thin sliced chicken breast and this baked chicken will be ready for the table in less than 30 minutes!
Prep Time5 minutes minutes
Cook Time25 minutes minutes
Servings - 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 thin sliced chicken breasts
  • 1 oz. packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1/4 cup chicken stock or water
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • fresh veggies or salad side dish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly spray a 9x13-inch glass baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Place the thin sliced chicken breasts in a single layer in the base of the baking dish. **If you have regular boneless, skinless chicken breasts, you can slice them lengthwise to create two thin-sliced chicken breasts.
  • In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the dry onion soup mix with the water. Then whisk in the ketchup and brown sugar. Pour over the top of the chicken breasts in the baking dish. Brush the sauce to completely coat and cover the chicken.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through. Cooking time will vary based on thickness of the breast fillets.
  • Serve Hurry Up Chicken with your favorite veggie and/or salad side dishes. Enjoy!
