Raspberry Chocolate Chip Brownies

by Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom on January 29, 2010

It’s not my fault. It’s not!

I am a chocoholic. And I need a support group!

So who’s fault is it…perhaps the fault of the market where I found these raspberry chips.  Perhaps the fault of this beautiful post of Jenny’s that I stumbled upon. Perhaps the fault of all the Valentine’s Day chocolate that is EVERYWHERE. Perhaps the fault of the pantry challenge. Perhaps my brother’s fault for getting me this super cool mini-brownie tray for Christmas.

Really…the fault is my own.

Must. Indulge. Chocolate. Cravings!

Perfection. 1 bite. Chocolate brownies with a touch of gooey raspberry flavored chocolate inside!

Raspberry Chocolate Chip Brownies

Adapted from: Recipe from back of the Baker’s Chocolate Squares box

Yield – 12 servings

Preparation Time – 10 minutes

Cooking Time – 16-18 minutes

  • 4 squares Baker’s unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 3/4 cup butter (dairy free margarine works too!)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • About 1 cup raspberry flavored chocolate chips

1. Melt chocolate squares with butter over low heat. Add in remaining ingredients except the raspberry chocolate chips. Stir together until combined.

2. Meanwhile place raspberry chocolate chips into the little mini-muffin well.

3. Pour.

4. Carefully.

5. Bake 350 degrees for 16-18 minutes for the mini brownies. If you are baking regular size brownies, then refer to the Baker’s Square box for complete directions.

6. Cool.

5. Try not to eat them all in one sitting!!!!!

If you are craving chocolate now, I do apologize.

Perhaps you’d like to join my Chocoholics Anonymous support group?!?

Misc Jenn January 29, 2010 at 1:47 pm

I definitely need to join that support group!

Also, I adore that tin. I’ve been searching for something similar, care to share where your brother found it?

Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom January 29, 2010 at 2:13 pm

@Misc Jenn,

I believe it was from Michael’s. It’s silicone…made perfect bite size brownies!

Cas January 29, 2010 at 1:56 pm

Raspberry and chocolate are my favorite combo of flavors!! These look so good. If I could find the chips I would make them asap,.

Kat January 29, 2010 at 1:57 pm

that is the cutest pan I’ve ever seen! I need to find one of those. And raspberry chocolate chips? Now I really need to do some searching online for that one.

And yes I now want chocolate …. thankfully I have some dark chocolate covered pomegranate in a jar in the kitchen. Now if I can just casually go into the kitchen and calmly open the jar ……. no one will be the wiser :)

Well, great…now I’m craving dark chocolate covered pomegranates ;)

Tina January 29, 2010 at 2:02 pm

I tried to click the Chocoholics Anonymous link but it didn’t take me anywhere! Wonder what kind of sign that is?!?!? LOL! (Just kidding!)

This recipe sounds wonderful! Not sure I’ve ever seen the raspberry chips before, but I bet any flavor would rock! Thanks for sharing!

Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom January 29, 2010 at 2:11 pm

LOL! Yes…any flavored chocolate chip will do!

Mrs. Fisher January 29, 2010 at 2:46 pm

These look AWESOME!! I love the baking tray too!

Sarah January 29, 2010 at 3:08 pm

Those look really good!

Chocolate & raspberry is one of my favorite combos! I use my raspberry cocoa butter flavor disks in m pancake batter and add mini chocolate chips. Raspberry chocolate chip pancakes is a weekend favorite around here! Your flavored chips would work great too.

Yum…bite size brownies! Does that mean that I could eat multiple ones and they would only count as one brownie? Not that I would do something like that or anything… ;)

Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom January 29, 2010 at 3:49 pm

But of course…I’d say 4 bites = 1 brownie!!!

Kathy January 29, 2010 at 3:55 pm

Are you kidding me? Those look amazing!!! It’s going to ice tonight I think. That means I’m stuck at home all day tomorrow. I see a big bake coming on. Yummmm….

Susie's Homemade January 29, 2010 at 4:15 pm

That is a REALLY good idea!!!

Ashley B. January 29, 2010 at 7:05 pm

I’d join CA (Chocaholics Anonymous)!!! But we’d probably all get together and devour your brownies. Not very constructive work on our addiction, lol, but I’m still all for it :) They look yummy!

Kristal January 29, 2010 at 7:30 pm

Oh that looks like a lovely snack item!

Terry McAuliffe January 29, 2010 at 8:26 pm

OMG! These sound absolutely ILLEGAL! Thanks so much for enabling!

Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom January 30, 2010 at 12:48 am

@Terry McAuliffe,

LOL! You’re welcome! ;)

Jean January 29, 2010 at 10:13 pm

Where in the world did you find the chips? Did they come from Homer @ the Spice Rack? That’s the only place I can think of that would have something like that. Guess I need to make a trip down there soon – and one to Michael’s for a brownie bite tray. Thanks for helping me spend $$…

Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom January 30, 2010 at 12:47 am

LOL! These Raspberry brownies are worth the investment! I think it was the Spice Rack…I’ve only been to the market a few times, but that sounds familiar!

lazygirl January 30, 2010 at 6:12 am

Those look so yummy! Heck, even the batter looks scrumptious :)

Renee January 30, 2010 at 2:15 pm

Where is the link so I can print this recipe?

Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom January 30, 2010 at 4:21 pm

I just added it :)

Kim January 31, 2010 at 9:11 am

What temp and for how long did you bake these?

Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom January 31, 2010 at 1:50 pm

350 for 16-18 minutes because they are “minis”…follow baking times on the unsweetened chocolate squares box if making brownies in a regular pan!

Jenny Flake February 1, 2010 at 12:23 pm

Love them Erin! That little pan is to die for, gotta go pick one up for myself now!!
