3 frozen tilapia fillets ($2.50)
1 cup rice ($.50)
2-3 broccoli heads ($1.25) (I used squash in the picture…only $.75…makes this meal under $4!)
Lemon juice ($.10)
Seafood Seasoning (Dill, Garlic, Lemon) ($.10)
Directions
1. Thaw fillets or cook frozen, as directed on package. (I buy the kind that are frozen individually and have no preservatives!)
2. Cook 1 cup rice in 2 1/2 cups water. I usually add a little seasoning and lemon juice as the rice is cooking to get a continuity of flavors in the meal.
3. Steam broccoli 3-5 minutes in microwave or in steamer.
Cost $4.45

What is the serving size on a meal like this? Do you have children? Or are you just feeding your hubby and yourself?

For this meal, I make 3 fish fillets. One for hubby and me, and one for my 2 boys. I will make 2-3 broccoli heads, depending on their size so that hubby and I get a larger one and the boys get a few of the “trees!” 1 cup of uncooked rice is just enough to feed our family. Hope this helps!
