Drop Biscuits with Maple Butter Compound

So easy and delicious!
Prep Time10 minutes minutes
Cook Time10 minutes minutes
Servings - 12 servings

Ingredients 

  • 2 cups white flour
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 Tbsp butter cold
  • 1 cup milk cold

Maple Butter Compound

  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • MAPLE BUTTER COMPOUND: let butter soften on counter or small bowl. Once softened, use a fork, spoon, or small spatula to fold and mix in the maple syrup and the cinnamon. Once combined, transfer to a small piece of plastic wrap. Roll the butter up into the shape of a log and refrigerate. Once hardened, slice of butter and serve.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 F. Lightly spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • In mixing bowl, combine white flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • Cut in 4 Tbsp of COLD butter with pastry blender or 2 knives.
  • Slowly mix in COLD milk and stir with fork. Mix until thick batter forms.
  • Drop biscuits onto greased cooking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown on top. Cool on cooling rack.
  • Serve warm with Maple Butter Compound.
