Easy Homemade BBQ Sauce Recipe – Sweet, Tangy & Smoky in Minutes

Homemade BBQ Sauce

Use tomato sauce and tomato paste to make the perfect BBQ sauce with ingredients from the fridge and spice cabinet.
Prep Time5 minutes minutes
Cook Time10 minutes minutes
Servings - 2 cups

Ingredients 

  • 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp yellow mustard or ground mustard
  • 1 Tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  • To a saucepan or large skillet, add the tomato sauce and tomato paste. Turn the heat on high and whisk together to form thick sauce. Add the vinegar, Worcestershire, brown sugar, mustard, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Stir to combine all the spices into the sauce. Once it bubbles, reduce heat to medium low and let simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Use BBQ sauce in your cooking or as a dipping sauce. Store in an airtight container up to 7 days in the fridge.
