I did not make this meal, but wanted to share what I was planning on doing! When my mom comes into town, we have 2 “restaurant traditions”…and since she’s only here for 3 nights we had to hit up our traditional spots!

Ingredients
Water or Broth
3-4 Pork Chops ($2.31)
2 T brown sugar ($.05)
2-3 T honey ($.50)
Salt/Pepper
1 cup rice ($.30)
3 Broccoli Heads ($1.38)

Directions
1. Place 1/2 – 1 cup water (or beef stock if you prefer) in base of crockpot. Place porkchops into water. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and brown sugar. Drizzle honey over each chop so it is mostly covered. Rub it around if necessary.
2. Cook on low for 8 hours.
3. Steam broccoli heads.
4. Cook 1 cup rice in 2 1/2 cups water. Bring water to boil. Add rice and reduce to simmer. Cover and cook 20 minutes.

Cost $4.54

Certainly you can share the pantry challenge idea! It’s a fantastic way to make sure that your items are rotated. :)
