I have a great 14″ baking stone that makes the perfect amount of pizza for us!
Ingredients
1 cup water
1-2 T EVOO (extra virgen olive oil!) ($.05)
3 cup flour (usually 1/2 white and 1/2 whole wheat) ($.35)
1 packet yeast ($.33)
1 t salt
1 T Italian seasoning ($.05)
1 t sugar ($.02)
1/2 jar pizza sauce ($.50)
25-30 pepperoni ($.75)
2 cups cheese ($1.67)
2 Carrots, peeled and cut into sticks ($.35)
Directions
1. Bread Machine: Load ingredients in order in your bread machine. Set to dough cycle. When done, knead and roll out in a bit of flour and place onto baking stone/sheet. Let rise a few minutes.
2. Ladle and spread sauce over crust. Add cheese and top with pepperoni.
3. Bake 20-30 minutes at 350 or until cheese is bubbly and turning golden brown.
4. Serve with fresh carrots. Crunch! Crunch!
Cost $4.05

Howdy,
I am a new guest to $5.00 dinners. your meals sound great. I will have to try some.
I like this pizza one.
I was also wondering if you ever tried to used english muffins to make personal pizzas.
I work at a Childcare center and we used to make pizza using english muffins. The kids love them, but so do the teachers.
Plus english muffins are pretty cheap. If you are in a rush and the fam wants pizza you could forgo the mixing and rolling of the dough.
Still cheap and tasty!!!
I am excited about exploring your site and preparing some of the meals.
Thanx for sharing!
Have a happy Wednesday

My pizza stone needs to preheated. What kind of stone do you have? Also, I buy my yeast in bulk so it’s really inexpensive but I do have to proof it first. I live in a Los Angeles beach city so there is NO WAY I can mimic your recipes at your costs, unfortunately. I love your website though!!

I saw you on Rachel Ray and was very interested in your $5 meals. I cook almost every evening and it seems I am always spending too much money at the grocery store. I am going to try to start using coupons and planning weekly menus by my local sale paper. You have some great ideas. Good luck and God bless you.

You should install the print this post plugin for wordpress. I’d love to be able to click and print many of your recipes.

All the recipes written since January have the print option. I have not gone back YET to update older posts with the plugin.

You can Michele. I’m sorry I don’t have a by hand recipe posted on the site. You can google it or search on a recipe site for detailed instructions!
