Sausage Drop Biscuits

Easy sausage drop biscuits ready in 30 minutes with simple ingredients. Budget-friendly breakfast or snack perfect for busy mornings. No rolling required!

Ingredients 

  • 1 lb. ground breakfast sausage browned
  • 1 small red bell pepper seeded and diced
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 Tbsp baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 8 Tbsp butter cold and sliced
  • 2 cups milk

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 F. Line baking sheets with silicone baking mats.
  • Brown the sausage and drain. Seed and finely chop the red bell pepper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Cut in the butter with a pastry blend or 2 knives. Then stir in the milk.
  • Fold the browned sausage and red bell peppers into the batter - it will be fairly thick.
  • Drop the batter in large spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the biscuits begin to golden.
  • Serve warm with butter. Enjoy!
  • TO FREEZE: let cool completely before transferring to silicone freezer bag or reusable plastic bag. Freeze up to 6 months in the fridge freezer or 12 months in the deep freezer. Reheat in the microwave on defrost mode.
