Dump & Bake Macaroni and Cheese

This One Dish Macaroni & Cheese is so creamy and so scrumptious!

Ingredients 

  • 16 oz. elbow pasta noodles
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 Tbsp spicy brown mustard yellow works too
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz. cream cheese cut into cubes
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs with Italian seasoning optional
  • 3 Tbsp melted butter optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Pour the dry elbow noodles into the prepared baking dish and spread into even layer.
  • In a mixing bowl or large liquid measuring cup, whisk together the milk with the mustard, salt and pepper. Pour over the dry pasta in the baking dish. Add the thin slices of butter on top. Cover tightly with foil
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes.
  • Optional: while the macaroni is baking, mix together the bread crumbs and melted butter to add as a topping.
  • Once the pasta has cooked, carefully remove the foil and then quickly stir in the heavy cream, cream cheese and shredded cheese. Stir in the dish, slowly to combine and let the cheeses melt. Once the cheese sauce has reached desired consistency, spread in an even layer and return to oven for 5 more minutes. If preferred, add the breadcrumbs topping before returning to the oven. Run under a 1 minute LO broiler, if you want to toast the breadcrumbs on top.
  • Serve Dump & Bake Macaroni and Cheese with your favorite side dishes.
