100 Days of Real Food on a Budget!!!!!

I adore conversations with others about the challenges of eating “real food” –  “on a budget.” We are all on a budget, and eating well can feel like a stretch sometimes. And that’s why I’m SUPER STOKED about my gal pal’s new cookbook – 100 Days of Real Food on a Budget!

Her mission is to share simple and tasty recipes to help you cut out processed food without breaking the bank. Being able to feed your family real food without breaking the bank is what we all want. Am I right?

I want to give you a peek inside 100 Days of Real Food on a Budget cookbook – it’s practical, it’s gorgeous, and it’ll help you get out of the rut of making the same things over and over, and eating wholesome, healthful meals at the same time.

Now, onto some of my favorite recipes from the book!

    Easy Chinese Chicken

First of all, my family LOVES chicken! The fact that I can feed it to my family and stay on budget is a win-win for me. This Easy Chinese Chicken is just what you need to say goodbye to that expensive takeout meal you feed your family once a week.

    Oatmeal Cookie Energy Bites

There is nothing better than having a delicious sweet treat made out of real ingredients. Oatmeal Cookie Energy Bites are one of the best recipes in the 100 Days of Real Food on a Budget cookbook. I tried out this recipe with my kids and they enjoyed it so much. I mean, look at those…the perfect afternoon snack and pick-me-up!

    Sydney’s Chocolate Banana Milkshake

A milkshake without white sugar?!?! You betcha – Sydney’s Chocolate Banana Milkshake is sweetened with RIPE bananas, and a touch of maple syrup.  I can’t believe this recipe came from Lisa’s 13-year old daughter, it’s seriously one of the best milkshakes I’ve had in my life! (Complete recipe is below!)

I have a little problem. I cannot make a meal that costs more than $5. It’s unnatural, but my pocketbook thanks me.
