This week….is a Freezer Meal Challenge at my house.
Because I need to make room for more freezer meals with next month’s MyFreezEasy video-ed meal prep coming up soon.
Because I have enough in there to make a week’s worth of meals.
Because it’s “Grocery Budget Makeover registration week“…which means I have wiped my calendar of everything, including cooking dinner. (Well, I will cook these meals…but I won’t have to think or worry about cooking.)
Because my deep freezer needs to be defrosted, so I’m trying to get everything eaten up and moved into the fridge freezer.

What is a Freezer Meal Challenge?
It’s a challenge to get all (most of) your freezer meals cooked and served for dinner! It’s a challenge to not let all your hard work in getting meals put together go to taste. It’s a challenge to help you spend less on groceries for the week (since you aren’t buying dinner food.)
For this week…
We have enough veggies, breads and MyFreezEasy meals to make 6 complete dinners. Plus, we have some other goodies to make smoothies and might have enough extra banana bread to add to the freezer. I love taking banana bread slices or mini-loaves and adding them to lunch boxes, straight from the freezer. By the time lunch hits, they are thawed and ready to be devoured!
This is a “short week” of school for our boys with Monday a holiday and Friday a “half day,” so they only need 3 lunch boxes this week…so our weekly grocery bill will be next to nothing this week. (Shooting for $40-$45!)
