by Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom on June 14, 2011

Congratulations to our lucky winner:

Michelle B said, “The Walgreens brand cold medicine is the best! I esp love the night time syrups. Works just as well as the name brands but at a fraction of the price.”

***Winner has been notified via email with further instructions.  Stay tuned to $5 Dinners for more upcoming giveaways!***

This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

So we all remember how I lost my voice just days before going on The View.  I went to visit a doctor to get some steroids for my vocal cords and he said to me…this laryngitis is not allergy related, but I can tell you that if you suffer from grass allergies, you are going to want to start taking your medicine right now.

I took his advice and started my daily dose of Wal-itin to get me through this grass season. I prefer Wal-itin over the name brand because it is cheaper…even with a coupon for the name brand. I buy it in “bulk,” or in the larger bottles, as that is cheaper per pill as well.

I love how when I buy the Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products I am also supporting preventive wellness services to local communities through the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™ .

  • Walgreens will contribute up to $3 million annually to the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™.
  • The Walgreens Way to Well Fund™ will provide free preventive health tests as well as other health and wellness services and education to local communities.

If you have any questions about the Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products, please talk with the pharmacist at your neighborhood Walgreens or online at walgreens.com/pharmacychat.

I use their benedryl replacement!!

Tanya Cosby June 15, 2011 at 11:31 am

I use the Walgreens brand of peroxide and alcohol. After reading this though, I think I’ll try the pain relievers too, we use a lot of them and I’m always looking to find cheaper ones that work.

I use their brand of Aspirin & Ibuprofen.

Andrea Willford June 15, 2011 at 12:02 pm

I use the Walgreens brand of Tylenol daily. It works just the same and is much cheaper. And on a side note, Walgreens has great deals on name brand products too AND you can stack their coupons with manufactures.

Sarah June 15, 2011 at 12:03 pm

We use children’s Wal-itin and it works well for us!

we like the walgreens pain relievers. I have a tweener who cannot swallow pills yet so she still uses chewables and the liquid pain relievers.

winona June 15, 2011 at 3:31 pm

I depend on the Wal-itin, too! It saves me money by not using a Claritin prescription, plus it lets me keep my beautiful kitties, even though I’m allergic!

Tammy N. June 15, 2011 at 3:57 pm

We use the Walgreens brand for kids’ tylenol and ibuprofen. Works well!

Brianne K June 15, 2011 at 4:33 pm

I use the nail polish remover!

Louise (The Frugal Teacher) June 15, 2011 at 4:48 pm

A few weeks ago my son’s eczema was really acting up on his arms. We were out of town and I did not have my coupons with me, so I bought the Walgreen’s brand cortizone cream (which was a better value than the name brand using a coupon). It worked great! Within 2 days it was cleared up.

Ginger June 15, 2011 at 4:49 pm

I love, love, love the Walgreen’s brand for Zantac 150. It’s so much cheaper than the name brand and it definitely all adds up since I have to take it daily. I also give my 3 y/o the Walgreen’s brand of children’s Clairitin. It is dye free and alcohol free and works wonders!

Danette Marshall June 15, 2011 at 5:04 pm

I have not yet tried the Walgreens wellness products.

Kelly B June 15, 2011 at 5:04 pm

I use their baby diapers and they work fine…not as luxurious as Pampers, but I got a great deal on them with sale and coupons and they do their job.

Wal-fed is my favorite. I don’t care if I have to swibe my I.D., I’m really using it for my allergies. And it’s so inexpensive.

Anita Brown June 15, 2011 at 8:03 pm

I have used the Walgreen’s brand for tylenol

Jamie June 15, 2011 at 8:53 pm

Wal-Zyr is great.

Oona June 16, 2011 at 8:22 am

Hmm… What Walgreens Health & Wellness product don’t I love?!? ;D
We use pain meds, allergy meds, cold meds, kids meds, bandages, ointments…. The list could go on & on. I haven’t tried a Walgreens Health & Wellness product that I haven’t liked & used again & again. My two most recent faves would be: the vapor inhaler (great for when you wake up stuffy… my kids love it!) & Fiber Powder (like Benefiber – I add it to my kiddies yogurt, applesauce, juice, etc).

:)
