The very popular printable coupon website, Coupons.com, is going "electronic." Details here...

The very popular printable coupon website, Coupons.com, is going ELECTRONIC.

Save to Card

Coupons.com is now offering a “Save to Card” program for the following stores:
Safeway, VONS, Dominick’s, GENUARDI’S, Randalls, Tom Thumb, PAVILLIONS and CARRS. ***

Simply log-in to Coupons.com and register your store loyalty card numbers. With this new option, shoppers can decide if they want to use the latest digital/electronic forms of coupons OR the traditional printable version of coupons. Additional retail chain partners for its Save to Card program will be announced in the near future.

Here’s how you do it…

1. Register (or login) at Coupons.com. Click on “Savings Card” tab at the top. (If you can’t see the savings card tab, check back later today or early next week!)

2. Look through the special Save to Card coupons and select the ones you want to save onto your card.

3. Print a list of the coupons saved onto your card.

4. Use your store loyalty card at checkout and the coupon amount will be taken off your receipt.

Please note that if you add a coupon to your Savings Card, you can’t remove it from your Savings Card and you can’t print it. Likewise, if you have printed a coupon, you can’t add it to your Savings Card. (No “stacking!”)

Show and Save

The new option for saving allows consumers to save an electronic coupon on a mobile device and then show that coupon on the device at checkout to receive their savings/discount.

Users can also access Show & Save coupons from their computers using the new “Local” tab at Coupons.com OR on their (soon to be released) Coupons.com iPhone app. Shoppers simply print the offers and present the printed coupons to the issuer at checkout. Shoppers can also simply show the coupons right on their phones for savings at checkout.

These savings will be available at local restaurants, retailers and services…from plumbers to dry cleaners to dog walkers. And much more!

Mobile Applications

The Coupons.com iPhone app, Grocery IQ, will soon be available for free upgarde to the 2.0 version. With this new version, you’ll be able to:

1. Scan barcodes of products in the store and have them automatically added to your shopping list.

2. Browse coupons and add items to their shopping list by simply selecting coupon offers from the coupons.com coupon list. The application also automatically matches coupons for items on grocery lists, when offers are available. Users can also browse and select Save to Card coupons with a few touches on their iPhone.

Another iPhone app, Coupons.com, will be available soon in the App Store, and it is FREE. The application includes Coupons, Savings Card and Local tabs that make it easy to browse and select printable, Save to Card and Show & Save coupons. Another cool feature is that users can print coupons wirelessly on their HP printers or send a link to their email account, which will take them to Coupons.com where their coupons are already clipped and ready to be printed.

I’m planning on testing out these new applications as soon as they become available. Although I’m traditionally a pen and paper girl, I’m willing to try out this new digital system that integrates coupons into your list for you!

I’ll keep you updated as these new applications and programs become available!

As this is a new program, there will likely be lots of questions! This is all new to me as well and we will have to help each other with these cool new technologies! We can share our experiences in the comments section!!!

***Please note that I have yet to test this personally because I don’t have a store loyalty card to any of these stores. For those of you who do and choose to register, I’d love to hear your experience!

Don't feel like clipping coupons??? Load "electronic" coupons onto your grocery store loyalty card to maximize your savings!!! Find out how here...

Don’t want to clip coupons each week from the newspaper? Want an easier and more “techy” way to save on your groecries!?!

Let me introduce you to the Cellfire electronic coupons program!

You can sign up for the program and load coupons “electronically” to your grocery store loyalty card. These “electronic” coupons will automatically be deducted from your receipt when you use your card at the store. (Please note: If a coupon you loaded does not come off your receipt, please contact Cellfire customer service!)

The process is simple and just takes a few minutes to sign up. You sign up using your cell phone number (or email address), they will text/email you with a confirmation code. When signing up, you will enter the number that appears on your keychain tag for your store’s card. Once the signup is complete, you can load your card with coupons. New coupons come out about every 2 weeks and you can add those to your card as well! You can also load coupons to your cell phone for other vendors. You show the coupon code on your phone to the store clerk to further your savings! More information at Cellfire.com!

A few of the current Cellfire coupons are:

$.25 off Cottonelle
$1 off any Huggies package
$.60 off Bisquick baking mix (40 oz or larger)
$.50 off any Old El Paso product
$.50 off YoPlus 4-pack
$.60 off any Chex Mix product
$1.50 off any Axe hair product
And more!

You can sign up at Cellfire.com, or by clicking on the Cellfire banner in my sidebar. Once signed up, you can load coupons directly from the banner in my sidebar onto your card! Simple and sweet!!!

Cellfire Electronic Coupons can be used at all Kroger family stores, including Kroger, King Soopers, Dillons, City Market, Gerbes, Hilander, JayC Food Stores, Payless, QFC, Ralphs, Scotts, Smiths and Bakers.

A few other notes about electronic coupons: They are redeemed at face value, meaning they do not double. They are NOT to be used in conjunction with a paper coupon.

If you have questions, please visit the FAQ post at Cellfire.com!

Today’s guest post comes from Erin from Coupon Cravings. She blogs about the very best deals and freebies around the web!…”Because we all crave a few good DEALS to make it through the week!!!”

I was first introduced to Shortcuts.com a little more than a year ago when I learned Id be handling the nationwide roll-out to media. For years Id been an on-again off-again coupon clipper and I was excited from the get-go about this new way of using coupons.

Shortcuts.com is available today to those who do their grocery shopping in the Kroger chain, including Kroger, Bakers, Smiths, Frys, Dillons, King Soopers and Ralphs. A full list of participating Kroger-owned stores is here. In the next few months Shortcuts.com will be available to more major grocery store chains so check your inboxes for those details!

Getting Started

Its easy to start saving money with electronic coupons. Just go to Shortcuts.com to set up an account and link your store loyalty card. While Shortcuts.com is owned by AOL, you do not need to be an AOL user to sign up with Shortcuts.com.

Once you log in to Shortcuts.com youll find coupons for top brands like Huggies, Betty Crocker, Hellmans and Pillsbury. Youll even find coupons you wont find anywhere else, like a $1/1 coupon for one Ragu Natural Pasta Sauce Pouch.

Just click on the coupons you want and theyll be automatically transferred to your store loyalty card. You can add up to 50 electronic coupons which are then deducted from your account when you redeem them at grocery check-out.

At Shortcuts.com you can view all the coupons on your card and then print out the page to take it with you to the grocery store so you know which coupons are available for your use on your card. Theres no need to cut out any coupons. Click on My Wallet to see at-a-glance how many coupons are on your card, their total value and expiration dates.

Want More Electronic Coupons?

Kroger chain shoppers are really fortunate that the company is so forward-looking when it comes to coupons. Not only can they get ecoupons from Shortcuts.com, but they can get 36 ecoupons from P&Gs eSaver program for Dawn, Crest, Febreze and more that are valid through March 31 (P&Gs eSaver is also available to Safeway shoppers). Or, check out Cellfire for a handful of ecoupons, mostly for private label brands, that can only be used at Kroger-owned stores.

If you want to add ecoupons to any of your store loyalty cards, not just your Kroger or Safeway card, check out the Upromise ecoupon program. The only catch is that you dont get money back using these ecoupons. The coupon value goes straight to your Upromise college savings account. Upromise, Register your grocery card and save when you shop!

Electronic Coupons: Dos & Donts

DO give yourself at least 30 minutes between the time you select a coupon and the time you go shopping to be sure the coupon has time to get added to your card.

DONT stack an ecoupon with a manufacturers coupon that youve clipped from the newspaper or printed out from the web. Because ecoupons and print coupons are both manufacturers coupons this is inappropriate double-dipping.

DO remember that ecoupons do not double so plan accordingly if you have print coupons for the same item that may double at your store.

DONT forget to print out a list of ecoupons that you have on your card to help you remember to pick up the items next time youre at the grocery store.

DO check back on ecoupon sites frequently for new coupons. Shortcuts.com, for example, is updated more frequently with new coupons than printable coupon sites.

DONT forget to check your receipt to make sure your ecoupons were deducted from your total. For Shortcuts.com, contact Customer Service to resolve any problem quickly.

Upromise: Register your grocery card and save when you shop! It’s an easy process to sign-up and get “e-coupons” loaded onto your grocery store cards. I was able to load onto my Kroger and CVS cards, with the option for a few other stores in my area. When you purchase a product that you have an “e-coupon” for, that amount is deposited into a college savings account. I’ve saved almost $20 since starting last month. Not too bad…I’m just buying what I normally buy and get rewarded a little in the end! In today’s economy, every penny counts!!!

I learned last week that Safeway/Randalls and their other stores are now accepting P & G Esaver “ecoupons”. So, if you shop at one of these stores, head on over to P & G Esaver and load up your cards to maximize your savings!
