Sue D. says, “My husband gets to sing the National Anthem with his quartet at a MLB game every year–the kids love going to the game to hear him.”

Carrie says, “We are huge baseball fans. All 3 of my sons play baseball and 2 of my sons play year round. We are also big Reds fans and go to several games a year. My husband has been going to Reds Opening Day for 33 years. You should take your boys to the Reds Opening Day parade. They would love it!!”

This past spring was our first experience with baseball…T-ball, really…and I think the boys fell a little deeper in love with the sport. They have always had a thing for The Reds (probably has something to do with the fact that Steve listens to the games on the radio every night…I can hear the game on now, as I type), and they love to sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” while in the tub!

The T-ball games were on Sundays right after church…and we found ourselves stopping for sandwiches at Subway each week between church and games! So when Subway wrote and asked if I’d like to help spread the word about their Baseball DeSIGNS Auction, I was all for it! And when they offered to giveaway 3 prize packs that includes a $25 Subway gift card, Little League reusable meal bag and a baseball with some fun extras for your kids to design their own ball, I couldn’t say no!

About the DeSIGNS Auction

In support of youth sports, Subway partnered with Little League® Baseball and Softball for its second annual Baseball DeSIGNS Tour featuring more than 30 baseballs designed by Little Leaguers, and autographed by celebrities and athletes (like the Backstreet Boys, Shay Sorrells, Michael Phelps, Carl Edwards, and Britney Snow). The balls will be auctioned off on eBay August 20 – 29 (that’s right now!!) with ALL proceeds benefiting the Little League® Urban Initiative. You can check them out on the Baseball DeSIGNS tab on our Facebook page. There are also some cool games for your kiddos to check out at

I have only been to one baseball game and it was so much fun. Love me some Cubs! shanneman at

  2. Julie R. says

My school used to give out free tickets to students who made the honor roll. I was able to get tickets for the whole family to go to the game. My mom and my sister always liked to go and get food from all the different vendors. I enjoyed both that and watching the games…we are Reds fans also.

  3. Kerry Fountain says

All of my kids play either baseball or softball. Spring is a crazy time in our household but we all absolutely love the game and enjoy watching our kids have fun.

  4. Candace says

We are HUGE baseball fans! One favorite memory is that my husband and I would go to triple-A baseball games when my son was just a baby. In between each inning, my husband would snag my <1-year-old and stand up with his mitt in the air. The players often throw the ball to someone in the stands as they come off the field, especially if there is a cute kid involved. This was my hubby's way of ensuring he would get a ball sometime during the game. Sly, huh?

  5. Melody says

We took our twins to their first game when they were 3. It was alot of fun to watch their reactions with everything but I must say that they’re favorite thing was the food!

  6. Jenna says

I use to love getting Orange Crush and Grape Soda after my baseball games….which sounds so good right now since I’m prego!

  7. Lois Meyer says

I loved to play I was quite the hitter. I watched as my own daughters played. Now I have grandkids playing and they are really good. Plus a grandaughter that plays tball and she is so much fun to watch. Love Baseball at least I know what is going on in this game unlike that huddle on the field with boys/men all on top of each each other. Hahahahahaaa.
I also follow you on FB!!

  8. Renee Richardson says

I remember watching baseball with my father as a young child. My mother and sister weren’t interested so it was just the two of us…LOL!!! But, I liked it.
Thanks for the great giveaway :)

My favorite baseball memory is going to the Kansas City Royals Games as a child. George Brett was our idol – before the baseball strike, when it was a great game.

  11. says

My favorite memory about baseball is just my first Astros game, bringing home a tiny souvenir bat and a shirt (that I still have and used to wear until kids came along!) Back when orange and blue were the colors!

  12. says

I remember going to a professional game a few times as a child – my favorite part was watching the scoreboard and all of the video and crazy things they put up on it.

  13. Carrie says

We are huge baseball fans. All 3 of my sons play baseball and 2 of my sons play year round. We are also big Reds fans and go to several games a year. My husband has been going to Reds Opening Day for 33 years. You should take your boys to the Reds Opening Day parade. They would love it!!

  14. Cindy says

My whole life has been filled with summers at the ballfield (softball) and I’m 50 and still playing! My kids grew up playing rec league and spending summer evenings with the other kids while mom played! They both play now as adults. It’s the all-american game!

  15. Jackie says

My favorite memory was the first Yankee game my dad took my two sisters and I to. It was the game where Ron Guidry had 18 strike outs. It was so exciting! Thanks for the review and giveaway!
