find someone that will test him!! or do your own elimination diet. avoid all Soy for a month and then let one type in at a time and watch for a reaction which could be tummy issues or skin itches, etc. I have different parts of my face and neck that breakout depending on what I've eaten. Of course it took along time to figure out what caused what but once I realized everytime I ate blueberries I would breakout in the same spot. I started to put it all together.
I started out gluten free and later realized that Soy was worse for me than gluten. But most gluten free snacks have soy of some sort. So as they say plain and pure food is better but I"m with ya sometimes it is nice to just have a cookie without baking it first. :-)
also recommend reading "Louder than Words" by Jeannie McCarthy. it focuses on Autism but can be helpful for others like me.

<a

It's easy and cheap to cook boiled 3 lbs of boiled potatoes and keep ready in the fridge. Same with rice. Simple suggestions are to serve boiled or baked potatoes, yams, squash with many meals. One of our favorites is to stir fry 1 lb. ground meat with herbs, 1/2 cup broth and a tablespoon of catsup. Tastes much fancier than it sounds and it tastes yummy over potatoes or rice. GF bread can be really awful, as well as awfully expensive. But GF muffins, pancakes and cookies taste pretty good! Keep hardboiled eggs in the fridge, for quick protein food too. Happy shopping!

GF cooking is the rule in our home too. My husband is a diabetic so we are trying to eat everything with Splenda now. However, a lot of sweets are hard to make. For example, making a sugar free chocolate cake is a nightmare.

Do you have recipes that are sugar free? Just wondering incase I could not find the links. Only 5 of us need to be on this, but I am not going to make 2 meals so we are all on it. I make almost everything from scratch. See if you can join a Co-op. you will most likely have to order by the case(depending on how your Co-op works you may be able to split cases with other), but in my case it comes out to be $1-2/pkg cheaper per PACKAGE than the grocery or healthfood stores. Especially, Bob's Red Mill products! And that is the brand we use most for the flours that I use in their

I have friends who say they cannot afford GFCF for their kids, but by doing most of it from scratch, it really is do-able.

Thanks so much…you confirmed what I have been thinking but was too afraid to put into words.<br

Hey Karin,
When we were GFCFSF (we are currently just CF with limited gluten), I did not give them soy lechitin.
As for your pediatrician, get a second opinion perhaps?!? You want a supportive pediatrician as you walk this path! Ask your friends or others with autistic kiddos who they recommend and who they trust.

He is, at this point, gluten free and dairy free.
Soy is in EVERYTHING!!! Does soy lethicin cause issues?
And our pediatrician is hesitating to let us test him for food allergies or sensitivities.
Any suggestions?

My 4 year old has autism.<br

Yes, peanut/tree nut allergies are a great concern in my household. Would love to see some recipes that omit these!

<a
