@The Downhome Diva (aka MrsD05), I'm in the same boat. I live in Richmond, VA & just bought pork tenderloin yesterday at Sam's Club for $3.77/lb (that's the cheapest place I can find it even with regular grocery store sales). My family loves pork tenderloin, but with the price being so high, we don't eat it very often. Sure wish I could find it for $1.99/lb. I would fill my entire freezer with just pork if I could find it for that price.

@Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom, It happened all of a sudden and without any warning. I really don’t know why. I’ve talked to several people about it, including my mom & mother-in-law and we all agree that it is the strangest thing. You can still get other cuts of pork sorta cheap but I have noticed that everything went up over the last year.

I always think it is so interesting to read about the differences in prices around the country. There isn’t even a reason for most of them!

Sorry for venting in my previous comment. I just really miss pork tenderloin.

What are the red dots around the plate? Looks like a sauce for the meat? Just curious, I don’t eat pork, but my parent’s do every so often and they need meal ideas. TIA

We eat a lot of pork. Pork prices are usually pretty reasonable when on sale around here…same with chicken. Beef prices are high-the cheapest is $2.99/lb and that doesn’t happen often. We eat pork so often I am tired of it but always looking for a new twist to make with it since we eat it more than any other meat.

That looks yummy but I do have to say waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! When my husband and I first got married, almost 5 years ago, I made pork tenderloin nearly every week because at $1.99/lb it was one of the cheaper cuts of meat. Then prices went crazy and it is around $4.00 A POUND! I sometimes see them on “sale” for $3.00 a pound. I miss pork tenderloin.
