Political Ads

Dearest readers,

My sincerest apologies for the political ads that are showing up on the site.  I do not endorse the candidates, nor will I publicly endorse any candidate regardless of party affiliation. I imagine that only readers in OH are seeing the ads, as I suspect they are geo-targeted.  If you have not seen any political ads, disregard and carry on. :)

I have taken the necessary steps to take the ads off the site, but it may take a few days for the request to be fully processed.  Many of the ads are coming from Google Ads and they are being manipulative and changing things as I block them…so they still show up.  In the meantime, thanks for your patience!

It varies by ad network. Each ad network has a different setup.

In Google Ads, you can block certain categories and block landing page URLs. But even then, they reroute the ads, the URLs and landing pages. Google ads can be very sneaky!

we get ads on paper in our mailbox. ugh. that makes me even more annoyed. hubby gave money to a political candidate awhile back and now they are hitting him up. why should we have to pay for their campaign? I hope they pass the bill that the candidates don’t ask for money from the people they are voting for.

I use google reader to read your blog and I had Meg Whitman as the ad–because I live in CA and she’s running for Governor. So ridiculous!

I’m just happy I can’t see any ads on here for my city’s mayoral candidates! I’m ready for elections to be over!
