Growing up there were ALWAYS two thing that could be found in the pantry…at ALL times! Tortilla chips and PACE PICANTE SAUCE! (Let’s just say my dad had has a slight obsession with the stuff!) So when Pace asked if I wanted to do a giveaway, I was thrilled. For nostalgia’s sake!
The lovely folks at Pace are giving away 5 different flavors of the Pace Specialty Salsas, along with a cookbook, so you can put your salsa to good use!
Pictured above are 3 0f the specialty flavors, Tequila Lime Salsa, Black Bean and Roasted Corn Salsa, and Pineapple Mango Chipotle Salsa. Winner will receive 5 jars of the Pace specialty salsas!

I love the simple chips with melted mexican shredded cheese melted in the microwave. Then I dip it in salsa and YUMMY!!!!!!! Makes a quick meal if you add all the fixins like lettuce, hamburger, guac, sour cream or just a nice snack without.

We put picante/salsa on almost everything that we can eat
One of my favorites is to marinate cheap chicken in it for 1/2 and then grill. It is wonderful. Another thing is to fill a bowl with picante sauce, and then add a dollop of sour crean to the center of the bowl. We use this for dips for chips and veggies. mmmmmm

I make homemade enchiladas and add Pace picante on top, lots of it; my husband likes that hotest kind!! We use Pace for all kinds of things because my husband is a salsa, hot sauce freak!!

My husband puts salsa on sandwiches instead of ketchup and relish. It’s his favorite condiment!
I use salsa in my cooking quite a lot, to punch up the flavor. But one of my favorite uses is a little unusual — a TexMex salad that’s really not a taco salad. Here’s the recipe:
1 head lettuce, torn
4 tomatoes, sliced
1 cucumber, sliced
1/2 red onion, sliced
1 cup corn kernels (canned or thawed, and well-drained)
1/4 cup salsa
1/4 cup ranch dressing
Mix the ranch dressing with the salsa and corn, before tossing it with the rest of the ingredients. Great with grilled chicken!
I want to win. I would love to win since eating salsa is a big deal in my family. We eat it nearly every day in one form or another.
As far as how we use salsa, we use with chips as a dip and to cook with. One of our favorite dishes is to use it with chicken in a slow cooker. Just pour some/all of the salsa in with your chicken and let it cook thorough. It gives the chicken an nice flavor and keeps it moist. It’s very good and you wouldn’t think of it as a diet food but it’s very low cal fixed that way.
Ooh, meeee. Salsa is love!
And I think my favorite family salsa recipe is this:
Chips (standardly Fritos or similar) on the bottom; then hamburger, cooked and crumbled; refried beans; cheese; another dollop of beans to help melt the cheese; sometimes diced onion; and then enough salsa to qualify as a vegetable. (Seriously. And we usually use the hottest possible.)
…it’s not very classy, but it’s good. And rather filling.

i’m originally from san diego, a transplant currently in phoneix.
i do love stephanie’s (crockpot365) salsa chicken. chicken, black beans, corn, and salsa, low heat for 6 hours. cheap, easy, and very tasty! i seperate the salsa mixture from the chicken before serving so i can shred the chicken and use 1/2 the chicken for another meal. i serve the 1st meal with steamed rice or tortillas and the leftover chicken goes into a caserole (think enchiladas, easy burritos, etc) or it’s good with some bbq sauce for pulled/chopped chicken sandwiches.

I would love to win this contest. My husband puts salsa or “chile” on everything! In the morning–eggs, lunch–sandwiches or just on a tortilla, dinner–any casserole, potato, or meat. As a result, my 2-year old daughter immediately asks for ‘chile’ when served her food. She’s hooked too!! I told all my co-workers about this contest (and website, for that matter!)

my favorite mexican texmex is actually enchiladas….nothin fancy here – i buy the pkgs of 12 burritos or chimichangas, when they go on sale ( or coupon of course) stock up in freezer & dump a 16oz can of enchilada sauce (local sauce in Las Vegas – Macayos Restaurant available only at Albertsons – the best!!!) dump a can of corn, sprinkle with cheese, bake @ 350F for 30mins – Yum! Yum! Yum! – a family fave!
