New Digital Magazine & 5th Birthday Celebration {And Kitchen Aid Giveaway!!!}

by Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom on August 23, 2013

I had absolutely no idea how this little blog over here in the corner of the internet would change and bless my life. It is my passion to share inexpensive recipes, as well as other money (and time) saving tips and resources with you…in the hopes that your life is a little easier, and your tummies full and satisified. Without costing an arm and a leg.

As we move into year #6, I’ve decided to take things in a new direction. Introducing…

NEW_Digital_Magazine_from__5_Dinners-2

This Week’s Eats

The new (and free) digital magazine from $5 Dinners, called This Week’s Eats. It will be my goal to publish a new magazine every 2ish weeks, and ideally each week…but I ask that you bear with me as this is a huge shift in the workflow that I’ve set up over the past 5 years :)

If this were a cruise ship, we could smash a bottle of champagne against the bow. If this was a wedding anniversary, I’d expect to get a bunch of wood or silverware.

But it’s just a birthday and launch of a new little magazine, so I thought we’d just give away a little old 6 Quart Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer.

KitchenAidGiveaway

Wahooooo!!!!

Do I hear cheering from KS, MI, NY, WA and AZ?!? I think I hear it from all over!

This will be simple.

Go check out the magazine and let me know what you think my leaving a comment on the magazine page, or “within the magazine” in the Facebook comments just underneath of it. Let me know what you think. (I already know the gray font is hard to read…and the links are hard to find!)

This magazine is for you, so I’d love to know what you want featured and highlighted! Sky is the limit :)

Next Friday, I’ll randomly choose a winner from the combined comments. Sounds good?

Now go check it out!

And then go have a piece of cake for me! :)

Erin

Congratulations, Erin. You’ve done an amazing job sharing affordable meals for so many. I know you’ve helped many families in this tough economy. I’m loving your new mag and new recipe lay out. I was just thinking how I’d love to have a new Kitchen Aid, but my old one keeps ticking after 19 years and I use it almost daily. Oh well, a new one is worth a try:)

I had trouble viewing the digital mag on my Android, so I checked for an app. I only see the app advertised for iPads… do you know if there is a version for Android? (I hope it’s ok to ask this here… I couldn’t get to the other comment areas.) Thanks!

commented on the magazine fb site, but also wanted to leave note here. as you already know the light grey print is gorgeous but too light.. but on page 10 the dark charcoal is also perfect and easy to read! can’t wait to follow all your new posts. Great recipes!

Nice. Must take some time to generate.

I like the simplicity, giving the ingredients upfront (great if you aren’t going shopping soon) and the practicality of it!

Love it but I am old fashioned and am tired of everything being digital, and none of my things are waterproof! If you ever publish a hard copy I will be the first to buy! But this is still awesome and looks so good.
