Menu Plan Monday – October 6th

by Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom on October 5, 2008

Tuesday – Grilled BLTs with Carrot Sticks

Wednesday – Beef Roast, Orzo with Broccoli

Thursday – Minestrone Soup , HM Rolls

Friday – TX Cowboy’s Pie (NEW! Will post recipe Friday!)

Saturday – BBQ Lentils on Rice

Sunday – Spaghetti with Homemade Sauce

Treats: Make Brownies with “Tia”…my sister is in town this week! We rarely eat dessert, so this will indeed be a yummy treat! I still need to try these from one of Laura’s MPM’s a few weeks ago! Perhaps we’ll make a batch this week. Can’t pass up the chance to make 2 batches of brownies!

To Do: Look over Angel Food Ministries food package for October (to be used in November), make order and begin working on November Menu Plan! Thanksgiving is coming up…closely followed by Christmas! There’s no better time to start stocking up on items you’ll need for your November meals so that your Thanksgiving meal doesn’t break the bank!

I love being able to make an oven fried healthier version of chicken. I’ll have to try that one. THanks for sharing! I can’t wait to hear about the Cowboy Pie! Sounds yummy!

I’m always looking for new ways to use lentils. Do you have a tried and true recipe for the bbq lentils and rice? That sounds amazing!

Have a blessed week,

Sherry

Those homemade rolls looks amazing. I’m going to have to add them to the baking this week. Mmm. Thanks for the ideas.

Can you explain a little more about Angel Food Ministries? Are you using it for meat? Is it really a good deal? Where are you picking up? Is it hormone-free meat, etc?
