Today is a big day in the food blogging world.
My friend Stephanie O’Dea, also know as “The Crockpot Lady,” has written a cookbook (seen above) based on her crazy popular blog, A Year of Slow Cooking. And it comes out in stores TODAY!
She was on Good Morning America this morning talking about her new book. To watch the video piece, go here, click on GMA Recipes in the left sidebar index, then her video is first in the cue at the bottom! (Sorry I couldn’t find a direct link!)
Recipes she shared on GMA:
Maple Dijon Chicken, Glazed Carrots, Pumpkin Spice Latte
You can get all the information on her fabulous cookbook here!
If you’d like to read a little more about how using a slow cooker can save you not only time, but your precious $$$ as well, check out these two posts (saving money and slow cooking during a recession) from Stephanie.
I’ll also be making one of her slow cooker meals tonight! In honor of all her hard work and the cookbook’s release!!!
Congrats Stephanie!!!

I made one of her slow cooker meals last night! Cream Cheese Chicken. First time we had ever had that and I’ve been using a crock pot for 25+ years now. LOL It was a winner in my house.
I’ve made a few of her recipes and they are great!
I have been making recipes all week from her blog since the weather has been a bit cooler. Can’t wait to buy the book!
A few of her recipes have become our favorites. I just love my crockpot!
I made her crockpot Mongolian beef earlier this week and it was delicious. Definately going to try other recipes from her (and you, of course!!!)
I love slow cooking. It’s the best thing in the winter.
Erin, thank you so much for your awesome support, and for being such a wonderful person and friend.
I’m *greatly* looking forward for the launch of YOUR book!

@Stephanie O’Dea, by the way, I just saw your posted Crock Pot Chicken Makhani and all the comments about it from your year of crockpotting in 2008…oh my gosh I’ve got to try it! I’m just worried that my way-picky & whimpy-taste bud DD will think it’s too spicy-hot. Do you think I should halve the garam masala & red pepper, then add more if needed? I can’t handle spicy-hot foods either.
@Beth in Ohio, HI Beth, you can definitely halve or even omit the red pepper, then add to taste at the table. Garam masala isn’t spicy, just flavorful.

I am so excited to try Stephanie’s Maple-Dijon Chicken with Sweet Potatoes soon, it sounds sinfully delicious!
