This is my favorite way, too! Learned at work from our cook. And it doesn't take long to get good at it. I find it keeps a lot of the meat in tact to enjoy :)

Yes! That us how I peel mine all the time! I will sometimes just eat them with a spoon like a previous person said. I prefer, though, to peel and slice them and I alway use my veggie peeler.

With some practice, you don't lose much at all! And a peeler would probably work...have never tried it!

I have a different way of cutting kiwi.

Start, as you did, by cutting off both ends.

Then take a tablespoon and gently slide it under the brown skin, then rotate it to release the green goodness from the brown skin.

Slice and use as desired :-)

I love kiwi, but my 11-year old just discovered recently that he's allergic to it (or sensitive? We haven't tested him). He developed a rash where the juices were on his chin, his tongue was tingly and his tongue and lips started swelling up, followed by icky GI problems. All this from just one small slice. His throat swelled a little, but thankfully not enough to have to take him to urgent care. He's eaten kiwi since he was little and never had a problem until recently, and has no other food allergies that we know of.

I'm pretty sure I've tossed kiwis with the skin into smoothies before. Another way I like to eat kiwis that some English friends showed me is to slice them in half and eat the insides out with a spoon. Quick, easy and delicious. I didn't know this way though so thanks for the tip!
