UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed!
HappyBaby_Book_Cover_hi_res

The new book HappyBaby: The Organic Guide to Baby’s First 24 months is filled with eco-friendly parenting tips, green cleaning tips, lots and lots of homemade organic baby food how tos and recipes, and countless other tips and tricks for providing your baby with the safest, greenest, and healthiest first 2 years of life!

I needed a breast-feeding “refresher” and the book contains a thorough section on breastfeeding from start to finish. And for those who are unable to breast feed for whatever reason, the book offers advice and encouragement for selecting the best and healthiest formula for your baby. The bulk of the remainder of the book offers feeding advice for starting solid foods and building a healthy foundation for the rest of baby’s life. I’m looking forward to using the recipes when I make baby food for little guy #3!

Also, the book contains coupons for Seventh Generation diapers, free offer for Happy Baby food product, as well as coupons for a variety of other green and organic baby products!  Gotta love a book that comes with coupons!

We just switched my son to cloth diapers at 14 mos old……the doctors thought he had allergies (which he does) and some begining asthsma symptoms……but we have discovered in the past week that the majority of his issues were from his diapers (and they were ‘pure & natural’) We also use organic cleaning products and alot of vinegar and baking soda! Rags instead of so much paper towels too.

I make everything from scratch. Everything. Bread, crackers, baby food, yogurt, you name it. The fewer preservatives in my baby’s body, the better.

i would love this as I have a three month old and I would love to make her baby food. (did it for the last one but would love a refresher.)

The best advice I got with the first was that successful breastfeeding doesn’t necessarily mean exclusive breastfeeding. somehow that took my pressure about it (being her sole source of sustenance) down and in the end she was basically breastfed with a bottle once in a while until she weened herself.

My mom taught me to use the wrappers from butter to grease pans, etc. instead of buying coking spray. I just fold them up and keep them in a baggie in the fridge. They are ready when I need them and it keeps me from having to throw away aerosol cans.

When I made my own food with #1, I used BPA free ice cube trays and bought organic as often as possible. I chose one day a week to make and freeze a few different types of purees. I would defrost on the counter an hour before eating…no energy required!
