Groupon – Restaurant and Bakery Savings

by Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom on December 2, 2010

Are you a Groupon-er?!

I have been playing the Groupon game for a few months now…it’s always so exciting to see what the deal of the day is for Dayton, and to look at other cities to see what other hot deals.  I’m usually looking for restaurant and bakery deals…so that I can stretch our very small “out to eat” budget!  You can also get savings for all kinds of retailers from carpet cleaning to house cleaning to clothing retailers and more!

If you haven’t joined Groupon yet, I highly recommend it! It’s simple to use…you buy the deal, usually 50-90% off, then it puts a printable coupon into your account…print it out and take to the store or show to the technician.

Simple. Simple. Savings with Groupon!

For those Groupon-ers, what has been your favorite Groupon so far?!?

I’ve gotten two different Groupons to a boutique hotel here in Austin. The first time was fantastic. We’ll be using the second one in January.

My favorite Groupon hasn’t been food related. I bought two rounds of 18-holes of golf and a cart rental for my hub for just $9 each! Regular price = $54 each. WAHOO! But shhh – don’t tell him, they’re his birthday gift next month.

I just purchased some bakery items from Big Sky Bread Co. last week (for my Thanksgiving celebration). I have a few other Groupons to use.
I just checked on the Nutcracker Ballet tickets and they are sold out (except for one ticket on the price I didn’t want to pay). There’s always next year, I guess :)
But, I love Groupon. I’ve gotten some good items there!

I’ve needed to be careful with Groupons, I would just blow our budget left & right.
My favorite Groupon is from today…..

Did you know you can buy groupons through Swagbucks earning swagbucks?? Typically 280 swagbucks (which I figure is about 1/2 a $5 Amazon giftcard)

I bought the $30 Red Envelope voucher for $15 but through swagbucks. So I see it as only costing me 12.50. (450 Swagbucks = $5 Amazon giftcard) I have no referrals from swagbucks so everybit helps
