Gluten Free Loaf Bread {And Bread Machine Giveaway!}

by Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom on December 7, 2012

When this new bread machine arrived at my house, the very first thing that I noticed was that it had a gluten-free setting. Intrigued. Totally intrigued.

And I knew right away that I had to put it to the test…and by test, I mean, that I’d make it for a dinner that we were serving to our extended family here and not tell them, until after I’d had a chance to watch them enjoy a few bites.  (Sneaky, sneaky.)

Their reactions – they would have never guessed it were GF bread (had I not told them), and that it was quite moist and delicious!

Check out the video of my Gluten Free Loaf Bread in the Breadman Bread Machine!

(While we don’t eat exclusively gluten-free, I have noticed big improvements in one of my sons’ behavior when we greatly limit it…as did his occupational therapist when we made the switch. So I’m thrilled that  I can occasionally make bread for him that he’ll not only eat, but enjoy!)

(I used the King Arthur Flour Gluten Free Bread Mix, that I’d scored on a deal a few weeks (months?) back on GlutenFreeSaver.com.)

And the holiday giveaways continue…And I’ve got 1 of these gems to 1 of you this week!

I love a good sourdough bread! I was diagnosed gluten intolerant last year and I haven’t successfully made a loaf since?:( Thank you for your post, it gives me hope!

I love sour dough bread, although a great homemade loaf of white, straight from the oven, is a close second.

My favorite kind of bread is rustic, crusty french bread!

I’m a bread junky. Love me some sourdough but a good, dense and chewy whole wheat is a close second.

Since going Gluten Free I have not found a good GF bread recipe. Still looking and wanting a good GF bread recipe that I can make at home!! I do buy Udi’s frozen bread when I just have to have bread.

I can’t pick just one! Lately I’m loving grill cheese with a hearty rye, but I also like sourdough & at Christmas I make some challah (or something like challah, it’s not braided) in the bread machine for my baked french toast breakfast & I make an Irish soda bread for gifts.
