That Barbie cake is great! My mom made it for me for my 7th birthday like 35 years ago! It must have made an impression because I remember it vividly. Each girl at my party got a miniature one made from a cupcake.

My fav. party saving tip is going to Party City and looking for things on clearance. They will have the cups, plates, napkins, and party favors all for 3/1.00. I can really pick up a lot of cute things and find the characters they like.

Awe, your little guy is EXACTLY 1 month older than my son! I’m just starting to look for ideas. We don’t live near a bunch of family, but we’re thinking of meeting some church friends at a park and providing some food and letting the children play. Since we live in an apartment, I need to-go meal ideas (frugal is a must) so hopefully these links will provide some ideas. Happy birthday!

Those are fun ideas for saving money. In March I posted about my 4 yo daughter’s Mary Poppins birthday party, it was inexpensive and really fun. I also wrote posts showing how to make some of the stuff I had thought up. You can check it out if you are interested in that sort of thing.

we had a terrific party tonight and actually created a game of sorts we all stood in large circle and passed the ball and as it got faster if you dropped it you were out. This was so cool for even us adults
