The $5 Dinners Weekly Meal Plan with Printable Grocery List

Every week I will post 5 links to archived recipes, plus an additional 1 or 2 recipes for breakfast, snacks or batch cooking recipes.  You can click through to see the original recipe and print that recipe if you like. (Or go green and just come back to this post to get to the recipe.)

This past weekend, our entire family went on a camping trip. Yes, the baby and I slept on the ground. We brought along his Moses basket to sleep safely in the tent…and he did really well! I was so nervous that he’d be a hot mess in the middle of the night and wake up the entire campground, but we managed to get through the night without much fuss. (If he weren’t such a great sleeper, I wouldn’t have taken him along.) It’s great to be back home and I’m looking forward to eating food that isn’t cooked over a fire!

Roasted Maple Mustard Chicken

3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, about 1.5 lbs
1-2 Tbsp minced onion
About 2 lbs. red potatoes
4 carrot sticks
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup Dijon mustard

Tiropita

around 2/3 package of won ton wrappers
6 oz crumbled Feta Cheese
6 oz Ricotta Cheese
2 Eggs
1 tbsp Parsley
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 1/2 cups Vegetable oil, for frying

Kickin’ Sloppy Joes

1 lb Ground Beef
1 14.5oz Can of Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies
1-8 oz Can of Tomato Sauce
1/2 Cup Ketchup
1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
Hamburger Buns
Serve with fresh fruit and chips

Sausage Pizza Kebabs

3 Sweet Italian sausage links
1 red onion
1 each – red bell pepper, green bell pepper, yellow bell pepper
Shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
1 cup pizza sauce
Grilled garlic bread

Pizza Penne Bake

1 lb. pasta noodles, such as penne, ziti, mostachioli or other “medium” shaped noodle
3/4 cup pizza sauce
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
About 30 pepperonis
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
About 1 cup pizza blend shredded cheese

Easy Cake Mix Muffins

1 box devil’s food cake OR spice cake mix
1 29 (1 lb) oz can of pumpkin
Note if using devil’s food cake mix: add 1 cup chocolate chips (optional but highly recommended)
