FREE Knife Skills Class Registration is OPEN!
Teaching your kids new skills can be a challenging part of this whole parenthood gig. Let’s take swimming for example. I didn’t know the proper way to teach my boys how to swim, so the older 3 boys did swimming lessons intermittently between the ages 4 and 8. Over time, I learned the overall step by step and process and phases of learning to swim, and let them practice, practice, practice.
Cuatro is now 3 1/2 and he’s ready to swim. He’s actually quasi-swimming. On his own, at 3 1/2. He is a full year younger than when my older boys learned how to swim – because he’s ready, because I know how to teach him myself (from what I learned watching the other lessons), and because we are always at the pool so he has plenty of time to practice.
Same applies for teaching children how to use sharp knives in the kitchen. Once I learned the best method for teaching them, I’m more confident in understanding when they will be ready and how I will teach them. (No, Cuatro is not using a sharp knife, but I will be teaching my almost 7 year old very soon!)
Katie’s class has been so helpful in giving me the confidence and know-how for helping my boys be successful with using sharp knives in the kitchen. The class is open for registration for one more day, so if you were thinking about it…now’s the time!
(It just takes a second to sign up…and then you can go through the class at your convenience!)
