Coming Soon! – Back to School Lunch Week with Giveaways and All Kinds of Lunch Ideas!

by Erin, The $5 Dinner Mom on August 11, 2011

As we go about doing all the things necessary for getting our children ready to go back to school or preparing to start up your homeschool, it’s best we not forget about lunch. Right?!?

In February, I did a “breakfast week” that was wildly popular…and I’m hoping this Back to School Lunch Week will be the same!

Things to expect next week:

  1. Daily Giveaways of my cookbook: The $5 Dinner Mom Breakfast and Lunch Cookbook, as well as lunchbox from EasyLunchboxes.com and Subway gift cards!!!
  2. 5 to 6 posts each day, sharing different lunch ideas from around the web
  3. Batch Cooking Day on Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th…time to get the freezer stocked with some homemade goodies that we can grab and toss into lunchboxes…I’d love for you to join me! I’ll share my plan later next week!

I can only hope that next week will be all that you need to get those creative juices flowing, as you make your child’s lunch every day!

I am always looking for ideas for my kid’s lunches – always trying to make them eat healthier, which is no easy task. I am looking forward to all your great posts next week!

Have to confess I am not looking forward to packing lunches every day for my nut allergic 1st grader. I’d love some inspiration to help things go more smoothly. Thanks.

Can you do things like ham and cheese, or cream cheese and jelly? What about hummus? Or pita pizzas?
