Whoosh.
March and April has been such a whirlwind…with trips to Atlanta, San Antonio, Orlando, Cincinnati and Los Angeles! I’ve barely been able to keep up with grocery shopping, and have managed to stay pretty close to budget despite my quick trips in and out of the store each week. I left “slow cooker packs” behind for most of my trips, making it easier for our kid-sitter and my husband to manage mealtime.
This week I dropped in to Aldi to grab a few things…and will likely bop into Kroger to take advantage of the $1.99/lb chicken breast and chicken thigh sale!
Aldi
I spent $22.75 on the above. Strawberries were $.99, peppers were $1.29 for 2 and the baby carrots were $.99 too.
My favorite find was the Nature’s Path Organic Granola.
Not sure if this is a store specific product, or if they will start carrying it in stores across the country. It was priced at $2.79…which is $.50 less than the Amazon Subscribe & Save price! I grabbed a box for my husband to enjoy for breakfast this week!
That’s it for now…anyone else find any great deals while out shopping this week?

The cereal looks to be an Aldi special buy…
Just bought the same cereal at Trader Joes for 2.86 normally 3.99 at Stop and Shop.
our colored peppers were 1.29 for three. great time to stock up and freeze unless you have a garden growing. u got a good buy on berries; ours were 1.99
An awesome Aldi buy is also the 3# bag of mini sweet peppers for $3. They are by far the cheapest at Aldi and the same peppers! 2 of my 3 kids and husband eat the whole bag in less than 3 days!
Aldi and Trader Joes are somehow related (maybe the same parent company) so stuff like the granola will occasionally show up at Aldi’s. I’ve found some good stuff there over the years
Yes Angie…they have the same parent company, German (can’t think of the name off the top of my head!)

My Target just renovated part of the store to add a grocery. Got three dozen eggs free-(coupon in the mail) and was given two. Spiral sliced ham 1.49lb. I was able to buy two and use the Target coupon 3.00 off 25.00 of groceries. So the hams ended up being 1.33lb. The mossimo t-shirts 6.00 each were too thin so did not use the target 3.00 off. Found another shirt for 5.20 but it rang up 2.40. Last week got 2 bagged salads for .49 (12oz) with 1.00 off coupons. 2-liter coke and sprite free coupons. Market Pasta and Sauce .50 each with 1.00 off coupon. Magnum mini ice cream 1.49 each. With 2 manu. 1.50 and 1 target 2.00 off.
Awesome haul Sarah!
Side note…I noticed both Targets near me are under renovation…wonder if they are expanding their grocery sections? Hmmm.
I had some 50 cents off 2 Jello pudding/gelatin coupons and picked up some discontinued/closeout flavors for 59 cents each at my Kroger today. 9 cents for a box of pudding mix! Woot! I found the Cake Mix Doctor books at the library and have enjoyed making cakes-simply amazing how a few additions (pudding mix, sour cream, extra eggs) can really punch up the flavor.
Sweet deal Kirsten!
