HoHoHoHappy Holidays!!!

I’ve got a $50 Safeway Gift Card to give away to 2 readers…to help offset some of your food expenses this holiday season!

If your calendar and schedule look anything like mine, you might be pulling your hair out by now.  I’ll be lucky to get out Christmas cards, have all the gifts wrapped and under the tree before Christmas morning, and lest I forget, a delightful holiday feast on the table!

(I know, I know…I just had a baby…but we still gotta eat, there will be gifts, and maybe Christmas cards!)

(Maybe.)

OK, so here’s where Safeway can help…they have a slew of fantastic holiday recipes that will add some zest to your table without burning a hole in your pocket book!  Mmm…Peppered Beef Tenderloin Medallions, Cider-Glazed Pork Tenderloin, Walla Walla Salmon and more!

Not sure what main dish to serve for your holiday dinner!  Check out what’s on sale and then decide!  If you beef tenderloin is on sale at your store, then by all means…whip up the Peppered Beef Tenderloin Medallions!  Or the Cider-Glazed Pork if pork is on sale!

Y’all know me…plan your meal based on the sales!!!

Oh. Oh. They also have some great kid-friendly holiday treats…hello, FUDGE RING!  That’s really an everybody-friendly recipe…(I have a bit of a weak spot for chocolate…and fudge!) And be sure to check out their “Edible Gift” ideas!

***Gift card can be used at any of the following Safeway family stores: Carrs, Dominicks, Pavillions, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Vons and Genuardi’s

The best money saving tip for the holidays is to buy gift cards from Restaurant.com (they just had a promo code for 80% off, making a $25 gift certificate to the participating restaurant – which normally sells for $10 – only $2!). It also helps to shop for couples or families rather than individuals. And work on your budget before you start shopping. Stick to the budget!

my 2nd entry is my money saving tip, make enough for leftovers!

or make whatever you make last for 2 meals, that way you eat less and save money!
i always make lunch last to dinner or dinner last to next days lunch!

as a student i need to save save save!!

One way I’m saving a lot of money this year is by limiting the number of people I’m buying gifts for. We decided to draw names with my extended family, so now we only have to get a couple of gifts instead of a whole bunch.

My money saving tip is, I shop at thrift stores for gifts!! You would be surprised the awesome things you can find for cheap! Even brand new things with the tags still on them! Happy Holidays!

Here is my third entry – a money saving tip for the holiday season.

At the start of December, I start to bake a variety of holiday cookies, 1-3 times a week. Then, I freeze them. If I have an unexpected guest or need a last minute gift, I simply take out several types of cookies from the freezer, put them on a festive dish (and for a gift – wrap it up with some plastic wrap and curling ribbon). No more running to the store for and busting my budget with overpriced holiday items!

Our money-saving strategy for this year was to use our rewards points from our credit cards for Christmas and only those. So we got a giftcard to Amazon.com and some cash and that is all we are using for Christmas. It has really helped us to really think about what we want to get for our family and it’s as if we never spent any money on Christmas because it was rewards “money”.

I would love to win! Safeway is just 2 blocks from my house so everytime there is free-coupon-stuff I go there about 4 times that day. LOL!

    Hi!
My best money saving tip for the holiday is to create some gift ensembles from your own storehouse of goods.
Get the mental juices flowing and have fun with it!
I told my fellow coupon buddy about this blog and word is now out to the greater masses..
I obviously would like to and would love to win your giveaway.

Money saving tip–looking up coupons online for places (like bogo coffees etc.) we are going to or brands (like leapfrog) we might buy for gifts.

  10. Karen Evans says

Money saving tip – I take my change around the house and take it to coinstar and purchase an Amazon gift card. I put the change to good use in buying Christmas gifts that can be mailed to my relatives accross the country.

When it come to decorating and wrappings, I always shop the mega clearence after Christmas sales and hold on to things for next year.
