I agree most of these are just the "main" of a meal, however paired with fresh veggies and or fruits and maybe some homemade bread and you have a 3-4 course meal that is STILL pretty cost effective I have found! I use this site to find recipe ideas that can help me cut cost because I buy Organic meat, dairy and produce and making everything from scratch is how we can "afford" to spend the extra on Organic and Raw foods. All and All, I do LOVE this website, even if the prices of foods listed are unrealistic! =)

I have been reading some of these meals and I thought I would get some great ideas but these are not real full meals! My kids would starve to death if this was all I made for dinner! lol I have 3 boys ages 11 to 18 at home and my husband. Three peices of french toast!!!!! You got to be kidding! One pork chop with some onions!!!!!!! ROFL I should be doing this blog! Last night I made chicken fried rice (enough to feed an army) for under 5 dollars. There was another blog I was reading that said you can get 1 1/2 pounds of hamburger for under 3 dollars....where do they live mars? lol If you live anywhere near a normal city hamburger ( the cheap stuff full of fat) is almost 5 dollars a package by itself. We eat a lot of chicken breast. I buy the big frozen bags of chicken breast at Wal Mart for 7 dollars and it makes several meals. I can put two shredded chicken breasts in any baked dish with noodles or rice and veggies all mixed together with cream soup and water and spices to make a cheap FILLING healthy dinner.
