your money the missing manual cover CLOSED! Your Money: The Missing Manual Book Giveaway

Several weeks ago, I had the opportunity to not only meet, but hang out with, JD Roth…author of Your Money: The Missing Manual and blogger behind the uber-popular blog Get Rich Slowly. We talked “shop” mostly…blogs, businesses, books. We had a few things in common…like our blogs launching us into the book business…that kinda stuff.  And there were a few in not so common…he loves cats…I don’t. *achoo*

I was struck by how genuine JD is.  How real and “normal” he is. (Despite his “psycho-killer” look!)  He is fun, personable and a pleasure to chat with.  And these qualities shine through in his book and his writing!

Steve is the personal finance guy around these parts…he read the book and this is what he has to say:

The book is easy to read, easy to follow and easy to digest.  JD does a fantastic job of building one concept on top of the previous concept.  It is practical, well structured and full of the wisdom that he learned as he got his family out of debt, and kept them out of debt.  His passion and desire to help others keep themselves from falling into a situation similar to his is evident. A real treasure of a book.

I glanced through the first few chapters…and for someone who doesn’t know a ton about the intricacies of personal finance (remember, I leave this topic for my husband), I appreciated that he wrote both to “beginners” like myself, as well as to those who have a better understanding and depth of personal finance knowledge.

So here’s the deal…I’m giving away 5 copies of his book Your Money: The Missing Manual this week!  Entry details…

I’ve been a subscriber for a few months now. I love your cookbook. It’s so realistic. Healthy recipes, with side dishes, that are not too difficult in a busy household.

Debra August 19, 2010 at 8:10 am

I need a whole whackload of advice for my 5 kids. Most of them have some good money sense, but my eldest….yikes! Is there a roadmap on saving enough money and finding your own place to live?

Becky August 19, 2010 at 8:17 am

I am ready for my husband and I to get out of debt BEFORE we have our first child. We’re lucky to have a good living situation, so that part is not a problem — but him going back to school and working a low wage job sure is! I like books that speak to the beginner because that is what we are. I subscribe to the newsletter.
