I had so much fun reading what foods you all would take with you on a tropical island, I thought I’d turn this into a mini-series…
If you were going to be shipped off to an undisclosed location that looks like the above picture and could only bring 1 kitchen utensil, what would you take with you?!?
Me. I would take my garlic press. I use. it. all. the. time.
What about you?!? What kitchen utensil could you not live without???
(And again. Don’t overthink this!)

My blender for tropical margaritas…and stare at that beautiful scenery.
@Rhonda Hall,
I like your kitchen item very much and would like to join you for a margarita!
I would take my large stainless steel pan with lid. I use this pan almost every day. You can fry in it, deep fry, simmer….everything! It is the best pan EVER!
I agree with a lot of the other posters….. a good sharp knife.
I would take my professional knife. With it–I could do a lot of cutting and mincing. Can take the place of many other items that I use a lot.
My immediate thought was my giant, heavy All American 921 pressure canner. Sigh. I need a life. A better, more realistic thought would be my nice Kitchen Aid chef’s knife. Without which, nothing much happens in my kitchen.
I couldn’t live without my pampered chef bamboo spoon but I am not sure what good it is going to do me on a dessert island so it might be better to bring something more practical
My heavy duty knife,I’m always chopping something up,like garlic,onions and a lot of other Vegetables and meat. I could use it on the coconuts ,pineapples and others!
I would take one of my Pampered Chef bamboo cooking spoons. I use it for everything, cooking, serving, etc…and I could use it to dig a hole to cook, for a fire or let it gather rain water in if I needed to. It is a multi use tool in my kitchen.
I would want my chef’s knife. I love that thing~~cuts through almost everthing with ease.
My deboning knife. I use it all the time, for everything!
A BIG, sharp, multipurpose knife!
I would have to say a good sturdy fork. Can be used for cutting, mixing, prying, and of course eating.
I love my tongs! I use them to stir up pasta, flip chicken while it’s sauteing, grab stuff out of a pot, etc. I love them. Probably won’t be much help on a deserted island though!
The coffee maker is the first ktichen tool I need. Can’t imagine mornings without it.
I would have to take a coffee pot also. It would have to be the kind you use over an open fire. A percolater.
@Gail, I meant percolator!!
A chef’s nice. To whack open coconuts with.
I would have to say my bread pan. I am a carboholic and am always making homeade breads w/ diff. things from veggies, fruits, grains, etc… I am a vegetarian and bread is my meat.
Lol
I think my blender to make smoothies and also to “blend” up the nasty protein things into the fruit! lol
Definitely my KitchenAid mixer. I use it every. single. day
