Received an email from Sean, the COO at The Dinner Garden. They had 10 – 15 requests per day before the offer hit the freebie circuit…now they have 5000 per day! Great to get the word out, but let’s pay forward a little good karma to them too!

I hope everyone donates a little bit to The Dinner Garden if they can. This is a non-profit group! And it is really easy to donate. I’m sure they have been inundated now that a “freebie” has been posted. Of note, I purchased from TomatoesHeirloom last year…12 plants. Found them due to a free basil seed offer…was supposed to get free basil seeds included with my purchased plants…nope…and I never received them later in the mail either…even though they told me they would send them…Just an FYI. Good luck to all of the new gardeners!

@Jen, Last year I sprayed a water-dishsoap solution on plants that had bug marks on the leaves. Seemed to work well!

I just did a post on my square foot garden. I have been reading about yours and was wondering if you had issues with bugs. If so, is there a recommended way to keep them away? I have heard about certain flowers you can plant or planting certain things by each other help. Any tips?

Thanks so much for this post, I am in need of seeds! I kept track of your garden progress last year while I took care of my regular yard garden. Well this year we live in a bigger house with a smaller yard, so we are doing a square foot garden, I can’t wait. I will be referring to your blog a lot!
