I am feeling the same way as everyone here…

Please be cautious about where you donate your money… there are always scammers out there ready to take your money. Do your research as many charitable organizations take a chunk of money for themselves as well… a great place to see how much of your donation money REALLLY GOES to HELP is http://www.charitynavigator.org/

With that said.. these two organizations are excellent choices where your money is sure to TRUELY help the people in need:

LDS Humanitarian Services – 100% of funds donated are used for humanitarian services and programs – the LDS Church uses other funds to cover administrative expenses for the humanitarian program.

Red Cross – .92 of every dollar donated is used for humanitarian services and programs. Funds will go to support American Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti.

Thank you for putting your thoughts on your site. It really sums up how I feel. I hope that in some way my small donation can help the people there. I am grateful to all those who are able to go there and help. I pray for the people of Haiti and their families. I can’t even imagine what they must be going through.

i agree with your thoughts completely. I was relieved to get on facebook wed. night and see that my friend who is a missionary in Port au Prince had been able to contact her family. Dh & i have talked about adoption in the past. i think it’s time we start talking again with a different country in mind….

I have been praying for the people in Haiti. It’s awful. Even our state is better off than them if an earthquake of that magnitude would hit, probably. I saw a bit on the news last night. Naked children sitting in the streets, people laying in the streets, injured. My heart hurts for them and our prayers can help. Will find some way to help monetarily. We are blessed so we need to help our neighbors in Haiti. Hugs and blessings.

I have been praying and thinking of this too. I just can’t turn it off the TV. I just heard Larry King is going to have a big show on Monday night for giving money and even though we are struggling I am going to donate a few dollars because they have nothing and then I look around and see what we have in our house and how blessed we are I can spare a few dollars to help them out.

Definitely in the funk. Unsure of what to do we prayed and as a family decided to dig into our emergency supply of food, eat only the basics and save and send the money to haiti. We plan for a week, but hope to do more. Prayer works. Thank you for posting!

My heart just breaks and tears run down my face. I have given what I can moneywise to help and will give more next week. Other than that I pray for those lovely people of Haiti , as well as the aid workers. I wish I were there to help and comfort.
Any amount you can donate will help. The pennies and dollars add up if from all of us.
