HoHoHoHappy Holidays!!!

I’ve got a $50 Safeway Gift Card to give away to 2 readers…to help offset some of your food expenses this holiday season!

If your calendar and schedule look anything like mine, you might be pulling your hair out by now.  I’ll be lucky to get out Christmas cards, have all the gifts wrapped and under the tree before Christmas morning, and lest I forget, a delightful holiday feast on the table!

(I know, I know…I just had a baby…but we still gotta eat, there will be gifts, and maybe Christmas cards!)

(Maybe.)

OK, so here’s where Safeway can help…they have a slew of fantastic holiday recipes that will add some zest to your table without burning a hole in your pocket book!  Mmm…Peppered Beef Tenderloin Medallions, Cider-Glazed Pork Tenderloin, Walla Walla Salmon and more!

Not sure what main dish to serve for your holiday dinner!  Check out what’s on sale and then decide!  If you beef tenderloin is on sale at your store, then by all means…whip up the Peppered Beef Tenderloin Medallions!  Or the Cider-Glazed Pork if pork is on sale!

Y’all know me…plan your meal based on the sales!!!

Oh. Oh. They also have some great kid-friendly holiday treats…hello, FUDGE RING!  That’s really an everybody-friendly recipe…(I have a bit of a weak spot for chocolate…and fudge!) And be sure to check out their “Edible Gift” ideas!

***Gift card can be used at any of the following Safeway family stores: Carrs, Dominicks, Pavillions, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Vons and Genuardi’s

My money saving tip is to be as creative as possible with gifts and gift baskets. I love using lots of website tips to get lots of freebies through the year and then figure out a theme and put stuff in a basket. I just put together a basket for my neice for going away to college theme and it was over $100 of stuff that I spent $9! I wish that I could say that I did that well for everyone but it one person down and a few more to go :)

Okay, here’s my holiday tip: Make use of online opportunities like Mypoints and Swagbucks all through the year. Use your accumulated points to get free gift cards and use the gift cards to buy your gifts.

My best money saving tip isn’t a new one: eat at home! We were so bad about eating out and it really does add up. We’ve saved so much money this month by eating at home and cutting out the Starbucks trips.

My best money saving tip is to focus on people and experiences – it’s the little moments like candles, homemade ornaments, and cookies that make it feel like Christmas.

i save money in the holiday season by making home made gifts. this week i am doing a lot of baking… cookies, bread… you name it I bake it :D it saves so much money instead of buying gifts for everyone.

My best money-saving tip for the holidays is to plan ahead for meals – check your circulars for sales items, look for coupons to sweeten the deal, and plan your menu around that. Think crowd-friendly and inexpensive items: pasta, potatoes, baking supplies, stuff like that.

money saving tip: use Swagbucks and get an Amazon.com visa card. you’ll accumulate points with Swag searches and every time you use your Amazon card. every few weeks we receive $25 of free money from amazon just from using our card for everything. that on top of Swag bucks earning us $5 for every 45 swagbucks means we can collect lots of free money to use to purchase gifts. it’s great!
