I’ve ‘told’ all of my friends with babies!!

I have been making most of my sons baby food and it saves a fortune!! Here’s his new fave! I cook up some blueberries in water til nice and mushy. I remove the blueberries with a slotted spoon and blend with peaches (he loves this yogurt) Then I cook diced apples in the blueberry water until soft. The blueberries do a double header and bubby loves them both!!

I’d love this! My 4-month-old is just getting into the world of solids.

With my oldest, I used my immersion blender a lot, but this time around I’ve got some better tips on making baby food in the crockpot, and I’ve got a larger blender to prep some of those harder-to-puree foods like green beans.

I promoted this giveaway on my facebook page and even included the link.

I found a tip that I plan on using: Freeze the baby food in ice cubes. That way you don’t have a lot of waste when baby is just starting out. You can add ice cubes as baby gets older and eats more, and you can even mix and match for different combos of meals!

I don’t currently make baby food as my daughter is almost 3, but I did some when she was little and hope to for #2 (due Jan.1). The little plastic containers with snap-on lids that gerber is using for some of their foods now are great when you make your own – they come in different sizes, and stack nicely in the freezer. Also, when I didn’t have a lot of time, I bought canned fruits and veggies (no salt veggies, unsweetened fruit) and pureed that; it’s still MUCH cheaper than baby food, though not quite as healthy as cooking fresh.

I did not attempt to make baby food with my first baby, but I know I will make it with our next. This would be a great start.

I am definitely willing to try making my own baby food. I think I was just too lazy to do it before. I didn’t think about all the advantages there were to it.

I do make my own fruit and veggie baby foods, but I need help figuring out how to add meats. This book would be perfect for me! Thanks so much for the chance to win!

I would love to win this book because my daughter just had a new baby in july and she has mentioned making her own baby food when Aaliyah is ready for it and being a single mom of 2 I know it is hard for her to afford any extras like purchasing such a book. I will definately email all my friends and family with small kids about this contest. Thanks for helping at least a few new moms out there!

I have told my friends abou this offer also!

I have made my own baby food for my first 2 children and now with my third due in 4 weeks, it would be great to have this book read by the time she is ready for solid foods.
My tip is to make a BIG batch of say…sweet potatoes and put them in ice cube trays and freeze them. Once frozen, store them in a freezer ziploc bag and take out as needed. This has saved me ALOT of time!

My twins aren’t old enough for solids yet, but I made a lot of my oldest daughter’s foods, especially teething biscuits, because of her food allergies. Much cheaper, too!
