I have had so much fun with my veggie garden this year! Since I am in Zone 10b (South Florida) my growing season is actually almost over. We have to wait until the Fall to start again once the heat has passed. I hope your garden brings you as much pleasure, and saves you as much money at the grocery store, as mine has! I have branched out to planting fresh herbs this year. I had never before had a permanent garden spot where I could dedicate space to perennial foods but I’m excited to use them!

I have a confession to make…I planted a garden this year…I got tons of lettuce so far and it has all gone to waste. I feel so bad. I ended up having to sign up for 5 summer classes and working 32 hours a week. I picked it twice but was never able to make a dinner because I am never home and the rest of the family did not make anything with it. I feel so wasteful.

Isn’t that the best…to go out and pick your salad fresh? I can’t wait to get my first tomato. I saw you in the Middletown paper. My mom lives there and thought I would like the article as I am a frugal blogger as well. Loved all the great comments and love your blog!

If you plant an invasive plant in one of those big white containers that restaurants get food in… I wish I could be more specific, but I have no idea what comes in them…and cut off the bottom, it will contain the seeding and growth. That is if you desire to plant outside the pot!
