My biggest struggle would have to be time. I simply do not have time as a full time working mom. My other problem is sticking to it once I plan it out.

Struggle… making the same thing every week…

Or trying to eat healthy and realizing that it’s often cheaper to eat less than healthy!!!

I have tried menu planning with recipe software – frustrating!! I have also menu planned with pencil and paper which takes forever. It also takes many cookbooks and much, much time. I usually planned and afternoon for planning.

My biggest challenge is the cooking day. We love to spend Sunday’s cooking. We make our own baby food (did for both kids) and we’ve made batches of freezer foods before, but it’s been your general things like chili, spaghetti, and some casseroles. I struggle with how you come up w/ different things for each week, not repeating ‘like’ stuff. If that makes sense…. Like, if you plan a meal around chicken quesadillas, are you only preparing the ‘insides’, etc? I suppose so you but you see my points, I hope.

right now, my biggest problem with meal planning is getting good deals and getting my freezer and all stocked up so I can plan earlier in the week.
and planning things that the whole family will eat without any problems.

I lvoe being able to menu for my family. I can then budget exactly what I need at the store and am not doing the night “what am I going to make for dinner tonight” dance. I don’t always follow the menu to the letter for every night, but since I know that I have everything in the pantry, fridge, or freezer that I need I can make anything off of it any night of the week. I love the freedom that allows!!

I started meal planning a couple of months ago. I’d always resisted meal planning, siting “how can I know what I want for dinner next week?” How foolish I was! I meal plan a week in advance and post it on my blog. I’ve discovered a number of benefits: 1. Being able to plan my grocery shopping and therefore never wanting to make something and not having the right ingredients 2. My daughter and I have been doing Weight Watchers and I’ve lost 22 lbs. and she’s lost 12 lbs! 3. I can try out new recipes all the time (which I love to do!). Basically, I dig meal planning!

My biggest srtuggle with meal planning is food allergies and Celiac disease. My 7 year old son and I are Celiacs. He also has an allergy to corn. My 11 year old daughter is allergic to wheat (not a Celiac), peanuts, tree nuts, citrus and pumpkin. I need to ensure they are getting adequate nutrition in their picky eating ways.

I could use this program myself, it would simplify things so much in the house. I love to cook but some nights I want the night off, thats where hubby steps in and makes meat with meat on the side! ugh! This would definitely help him help me!!

I really struggle with meal planning because I don’t always know what I have and alot of times I think I have something that I don’t and is a main ingredient to the recipe. I’m also a by how I feel cook, and that isn’t good for my family. My husband can’t read minds and he doesn’t know how to cook anything other than meat on the grill!!

My oldest daughter is 12 and it is time that she started learning about menu planning, shopping, and making sure you have ingredients on hand.

Thanks for doing the giveaway!!

My biggest struggle with meal planning is that I’m trying to lose weight and need to plan a meal that’s good for my weight loss but also something the whole family will enjoy and it also needs to be a quick meal.

One of my struggles is to try to work in my meal planning with the food storage that I’m also building- using what I have in order to rotate and coming up with ways to use it. I started off well at the beginning of the year but need to get back on top of things again- especially with our 4th child coming at the end of summer! I know I save more time when I have things planned out in advance instead of taking all day long to think of what I can make that we already have all the ingredients for since I only grocery shop once a week. HELP PLEASE!

The area I need to improve in is planning my weekly meals around what’s on sale. I usually just plan what I’m in the mood for or what will fit in with my other commitments during the week. I think if I used what was on sale in the weekly circulars I could save much more money.
